The Filmfare Best Comedian Award was given by '' Filmfare'' as part of its annual Filmfare Awards for Hindi films, to recognise an actor who had delivered an outstanding performance in a comic role. Although the awards started in 1954, awards for the best comedian category started only in 1967, and has not been awarded since 2007. Superlatives Anupam Kher, with 5 awards, has most wins than any other actor, followed by Mehmood with 4, and Deven Verma and Utpal Dutt with 3 awards each. Having won the award thrice in a row (1992–1994), Kher also holds the record for most consecutive wins in this category. Mehmood, with 19 nominations, holds the record for the highest number of nominations in this category. ''Filmfare'' is an Indian English language, English-language fortnightly magazine published by Worldwide Media. Shakti Kapoor (born Sunil Kapoor; 3 September 1952) is an Indian actor and comedian who appears in Bollywood films. Known for his villainous and comic roles in Hindi films, he has featured in over 600 films. ''Love In Tokyo'' is a 1966 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed and produced by Pramod Chakravorty. The film was a hit at the box office. Plot A young man Ashok's (Joy Mukherjee) mother makes him go to Tokyo, Japan in search of his deceased elder brother's and his wife (also dead)'s son Ashok's nephew Chikoo. ''Pyar Kiye Jaa'' () is a 1966 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed and produced by C. V. Sridhar.
