In 2004, a new municipality, Al Daayen, was created under Resolution No. 13, formed from parts of Umm Salal and Al Khawr; at the same time, Al Ghuwariyah was merged with Al Khawr; Al Jumaliyah was merged with Ar Rayyan; Jarayan al Batnah was split between Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah; and Mesaieed was merged with Al Wakrah. Al Rayyan
Al Rayyan (; also spelled as ''Ar Rayyan'') is the third-largest municipality in the state of Qatar. Its primary settlement is the city of the same name, which occupies the entire eastern section and largely surrounds Metropolitan Doha and functions as a suburb. The vast expanse of mostly undeveloped lands in the south-west also falls under the municipality's administration. Zones Of Qatar
In the administrative divisions of Qatar, zones are the second-highest level of government after municipalities of Qatar, municipalities. As of the 2015 census, there were 98 zones. However, several of these zones are not currently in use. Over the years, numerous changes in zones have taken place. For instance, in the 2010 census, Zone 69 was transferred to Al Daayen Municipality, Zones 50 and 58 were added to Ad-Dawhah (municipality), Ad-Dawhah Municipality, and part of Zone 74 was merged with Zone 70 of Al Daayen Municipality. Qatar

Bu Sidra ( ar, بوسدرة; also spelled Abu Sidra) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipalities of Qatar, municipality of Al Rayyan. In the 2015 census, it was listed as a district of Zones of Qatar, zone no. 55 which has a population of 283,675 and also includes New Fereej Al Ghanim, Al Aziziya, Al Waab, Fereej Al Soudan, Muaither, Al Mearad, Fereej Al Manaseer, Fereej Al Murra and Al Sailiya. Fereej Al Manaseer is located to the immediate east. Etymology The first part of the district's name, "abu", translates to "father" and is used as a prefix for geographical features. "Sidra" is a reference to the sidr tree (''Ziziphus nummularia'') which grows abundantly in the area. Al Aziziya ( ar, العزيزية) is a district in the municipality of Al Rayyan in Qatar, located on the outskirts of Doha. Al Waab
Al Waab ( ar, الوعب, Al Wa‘b) is a district situated between the municipalities of Doha and Al Rayyan in Qatar. The district has witnessed tremendous growth beginning in the mid-1990s, resulting in the construction of numerous residential compounds to house expatriates, villas, and commercial and medical developments. It is a district of Al Rayyan City, which, in turn, is a part of Metropolitan Doha. Located roughly from the Doha's city center, the district is located next to some of Doha's most popular attractions such as the Aspire Zone and Villaggio Mall, both of which are located on Al Waab Street in neighboring Baaya. Gated compounds are very common in this district, numbering at 21 in 2016. Fereej Al Soudan ( ar, فريج السودان) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. It is mainly a residential area. In the 2015 census, it was listed as a district of Zone 55 which has a population of 283,675 and also includes Bu Sidra, Al Aziziya, Al Waab, New Fereej Al Ghanim, Muaither, Al Mearad, Fereej Al Manaseer, Fereej Al Murra and Al Sailiya. It is also listed as a district of Zone 54. It borders Al Waab district to the south and Fereej Al Nasr and Al Sadd districts in Doha to the east. Muaither
Muaither ( ar, معيذر) is a district of Al Rayyan City in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. Etymology Referencing the area's geography, 'muaither' is derived from the Arabic 'mathar', meaning "place where animals are kept". Muaither is situated in a rawda (depression), meaning that water runoff accumulates in it, leading to increased plant activity. Various perennials such as the samr tree and fennel grow here. As such, the area serves as a good grazing area for Bedouins rearing their livestock. Administration When free elections of the Central Municipal Council first took place in Qatar during 1999, Muaither was designated the seat of constituency no. 15. Al Mearad ( ar, المعراض, Al Mi‘rāḑ) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. New Fereej Al Ghanim ( ar, فريج الغانم الجديد, Farīq al Ghānim al Jadīd; also referred to as Fereej Al Ghanim Al Jadeed) is a district in Qatar, located in the municipality of Al Rayyan. In the 2015 census it was listed as a district of Zone 55, which has a population of 283,675 and also includes Bu Sidra, Al Aziziya, Al Waab, Fereej Al Soudan, Muaither, Al Mearad, Fereej Al Manaseer, Fereej Al Murra and Al Sailiya.
