''Familien Gyldenkål sprænger banken'' ( "The Goldcabbage Family Breaks the Bank") is a 1976 Danish comedy film directed by Gabriel Axel. It was the second in a series of three films about the eccentric ''Gyldenkål'' family, a sequel to ''Familien Gyldenkål'' (1975) also directed by Axel, and followed by ''Familien Gyldenkål vinder valget'' (1977) directed by Bent Christensen. Biography Born in Aarhus, Denmark, on 18 April 1918, Axel spent most of his childhood in Paris in a wealthy Danish manufacturer's family. In 1935, at age 17 following the family's economic collapse, he moved to Denmark and trained as a cabinet maker. In 1942, Axel was admitted to the acting school at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. After graduating in 1945, he returned to France where he spent five years on stage in Paris, including at the Théâtre de l'Athénée under theatre director Louis Jouvet. Sejr Volmer-Sørensen
Sejr Volmer-Sørensen (7 February 1914 – 11 May 1982) (also known as Volmer-Sørensen and Win Volmer-Sørensen) was a Danish lyricist, actor, director and television host. Born in Kristianstad, Volmer-Sørensen was adopted by a family of leather merchants. In 1932, he graduated and moved to Paris to train as a pianist and made his debut as a musician at the 1934 Tivoli Concert. In 1950 he joined the Danish broadcaster Danmark Radio, where he became a popular radio and television host, on such shows as ''Telefonen ringer'' and ''På'en igen'' which he co-hosted with Christian Arhoff. He also hosted the first five Dansk Melodi Grand Prix (Trials for the Eurovision Song Contest). He wrote the lyrics for the winning Eurovision song Dansevise which was sung by Grethe and Jørgen Ingmann. In 1968 he married actress Grethe Sønck.
