A Turkish name consists of an ''ad'' or an ''isim'' (given name; plural ''adlar'' and ''isimler'') and a ''soyadı'' or ''soyisim'' (surname). Turkish names exist in a "full name" format. Abdülmelik Fırat
Abdülmelik Fırat (1934, Hınıs – 29 September 2009, Ankara) was a prominent Turkish-Kurds, Kurdish politician. He was the grandson of Sheikh Said, leader of the 1925 Sheikh Said rebellion. Early life and education His grandfather Sheikh Said was a Sheikh of the Sufism, Sufi Naqshbandi order, which had great influence in the Kurdish population in Turkey. Following the defeat of the rebellion led by Sheikh Said and the subsequent execution of him, his surviving relatives were exiled. Several returned in 1929, when the law allowed it. He was born in 1934 in Erzurum and attended school in Diyarbakır, Diyarbakir. Career Fırat joined the Democrat Party (Turkey, historical), Democrat Party (DP), and was elected to parliament in 1957. Dengir Mir Mehmet Fırat
Dengir Mir Mehmet Fırat (8 August 1943 – 11 July 2019) was a Turkish politician of Kurdish origin who was one of the founders of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) in 2001. He served as a Member of Parliament for the Grand National Assembly from 1999 to 2011 and again from 2015 to 2018 as a member of the Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP). Early life Fırat was born in the district of Kahta in Adyaman on 8 August 1943. His grandfather, Hacı Bedir Fırat, was an MP during the first, second and third Parliaments of the Turkish Republic, serving from Malatya for the first and second and from Kars for the third Parliament. His uncle Hüseyin Fehmi Fırat was a Democratic Party politician who also served as an MP for three terms. His cousin, Mehmet Sırrı Turanlı, was an MP for Adıyaman in the 11th Parliament and was later also a senator. Duygu Fırat (born July 15, 1990 in İzmir, Turkey) is a Turkish female basketball player. The young national plays for Fenerbahçe İstanbul as center position. Duygu is 188 cm tall and weighs 74 kg. She currently plays for Burhaniye Belediyespor on loan from Fenerbahçe İstanbul where she played since 2005. She also played for Bucaspor in youth level. Engin Firat (born 11 June 1970) is a Turkish football manager and former player. Coaching career Sepahan After coming to an agreement with Ali Daei and the Iran football federation, Firat signed a head coaching job with the previous season's runner up and Asian Champions League finalist Sepahan. Firat was among the candidates to become head coach of Nigeria to lead the team in 2010 FIFA World Cup, a job he rejected. Ertuğrul Oğuz Fırat (1 February 1923 in Malatya – 16 October 2014 in Ankara) was a Turkish composer, painter and poet. Fırat graduated from Istanbul University with a degree in law in 1948 and held a career as a judge until his retirement in 1979. Gökçe Fırat Çulhaoğlu (born 8 March 1974) is the chairman of National Party and journalist. He is the Head-Columnist of '' Turkish Left''. He was arrested and sent to prison with the accusation of " Insulting the President" on 31 May 2015, but released after 18 days of imprisonment. On 31 August 2016 he was detained again and accused of aiding a terrorist organization. He would have been released on 31 March 2017, if not on the same day a second prosecution was opened and he was again taken in custody. İbrahim Halil Fırat (born 1 January 1973) is a Turkish politician from the Justice and Development Party (AKP), who has served as a Member of Parliament for Adıyaman since 7 June 2015. Born in Adıyaman, he graduated from Marmara University Faculty of Law and worked as a freelance lawyer for 12 years. Şahabettin Mert Fırat (born 10 January 1981) is a Turkish actor and screenwriter. Life His father is singer Nihat Fırat. After finishing high school, he studied radio and television broadcasting in Sweden. He then returned to Ankara and took acting classes in Ankara University. Fırat graduated from the theatre department of Ankara University and took his master's degree in Film and Drama from Kadir Has University.
