Førde Heliport, Central Hospital
Førde Heliport, University Hospital (; ) is a heliport situated on the premises of Førde Central Hospital in the Vie neighborhood of Sunnfjord, Norway. Used exclusively for air ambulance services, it is home to a Eurocopter EC-135P2+ operated by Norsk Luftambulanse (NLA) on contract with the National Air Ambulance Service. The base is owned by Førde Hospital Trust. When the base opened in 1992, the hospital had only a helipad, while the helicopter was based at Førde Airport, Bringeland. The operations were provided by Airlift until 2001, when NLA took over. A base at the hospital opened in 2002. However, it was located such that a final run with an ambulance was needed to bring the patient to the hospital. Førde Hospital Trust () is a health trust which administrates hospitals and institutions in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway, and is owned by Western Norway Regional Health Authority Førde Health Trust was founded in 2002, and took control of the hospitals and psychiatric institutions from the Sogn og Fjordane County Municipality as part of the national health reforms. The health trust has responsibility for the common specialist health services in Sogn og Fjordane. Sunnfjord ( - in contrast to Nordfjord) is a traditional district in Western Norway located in Vestland county. It includes the municipalities of Askvoll, Fjaler, the southernmost parts of Kinn, Sunnfjord, and the southernmost parts of Bremanger. ''Sogn Avis'' is a Norwegian newspaper, published in Leikanger in Sogndal Municipality in Vestland county. It was named ''Sogns Avis'' from 1926 to 1972 and ''Sogningen/Sogns Avis'' from 1972 to 1993.
