Fulton Speedway
Fulton Speedway is a 3/8th mile high bank Dirt track racing, dirt Oval racing, oval Stock car racing, raceway in Fulton, Oswego County, New York, Volney, New York (state), New York. The track was built into a hilly area on the banks of the Oswego River in a natural bowl, with seating high above the track, on a hill. History Millard “Bub” Benway and his brother Ray used their construction business, Benway Bros. Construction, to build a 1/3 mile paved oval under the name Mil-Ray Raceway. The first event was held June 24th, 1961, and a 1/8 mile dragstrip began operations on July 15, 1962, and ran for a decade. Veteran driver Dutt Yanni captured the first track championship. Asphalt racing was on the weekly schedule until 1978. The track was reopened as a 3/8 mile dirt oval in 1979. in July 1998, Harvey, Joan, and David Fink purchased the track. Frank Cozze (September 22, 1955) is an American Dirt Modified and sprint car racing driver, currently credited with over 300 career wins. Racing career Frank Cozze began racing in 1974 by rebuilding up a wrecked car his father fielded for Budd Olsen. He was named the rookie champion at the Flemington Speedway, New Jersey, and in 1985 claimed that track's overall championship. Cozze went on to become track champion at the New Jersey's East Windsor Speedway and New Egypt Speedway, and to successfully compete in the mid-Atlantic region venues including Big Diamond Speedway, Grandview Speedway, and Nazareth Speedway in Pennsylvania; Hagerstown Speedway, Maryland; and Brewerton Speedway and Orange County Fair Speedway in New York. Brett Hearn (born September 1, 1958) is a semi-retired modified stock car driver from Kinnelon, New Jersey. He currently serves as race director at Orange County Fair Speedway Hearn has amassed 919 wins in a stock car over the course of his professional career which has spanned four decades. Kenny Brightbill (born January 20, 1948), nicknamed "the Shillington Slingshot" and "Mr. Excitement" is an American former NASCAR and professional dirt modified driver from Sinking Spring, Pennsylvania.
