Fuglafjørður Municipality
Fuglafjørður () is a village on Eysturoy's east coast in the Faroe Islands. Its name means "fjord of birds". The village is at the edge of a bay and expands into the surrounding steep hills. The town centre is located close to the harbour and contains most of the shops and services. The harbour in Fuglafjørður is busy, as the town's economy is based on the processing of fish and fish meal. There is fishing-industry, a slip, production of trawl and also oil-depots. In the past years Fuglafjørður has also become famous for its newly established cultural centre in the town centre that has become one of the main cultural attractions in Eysturoy. Eysturoy
Eysturoy (, meaning 'East Island') is a region and the second-largest of the Faroe Islands, both in size and population. Description Eysturoy is separated by a narrow sound from the main island of Streymoy. Eysturoy is extremely rugged, with some 66 separate mountain peaks, including Slættaratindur, the highest peak in the archipelago at . The country's two longest fjords, Skálafjørður in the south and Funningsfjørður in the north, almost split the island in two halves. The isthmus in between, Millum Fjarða, is one of the flattest areas in the country. Eilif Samuelsen
Torben Eilif Lindenskov Samuelsen (born May 22, 1934) is a former Faroese teacher and politician for the Faroese Union Party. Samuelsen was born in Fuglafjørður. He graduated as a teacher from the Haslev Normal School in 1958 and began his career by teaching in Fuglafjørður, Hvalvík, and Tórshavn. He served as mayor of the Municipality of Hvalvík from 1963 to 1965. Samuelsen was the chair of the Faroese Teachers' Association from 1969 to 1980, the chair of the Tórshavn Music School from 1988 to 1998, and the head of the Education Council () and head of the National Cultural Foundation () from 1986 to 1994 and from 1998 to 2000. Ilulissat
Ilulissat, also known as Jacobshavn or Jakobshav, is the municipal seat and largest town of the Avannaata municipality in western Greenland, located approximately north of the Arctic Circle. Húsavík
Húsavík () is a town in Norðurþing municipality on the northeast coast of Iceland on the shores of Skjálfandi bay with 2,485 inhabitants. The most famous landmark of the town is the wooden church Húsavíkurkirkja, built in 1907. Húsavík is served by Húsavík Airport. Abraham Løkin (born Abraham Hansen 16 June 1959, Fuglafjørður, Faroe Islands) is a former Faroe Islands Association football player and former manager of Faroese football club ÍF Fuglafjørður. He is the father of Elin Løkin, Bogi Løkin, Karl Løkin and Steffan Løkin. In November 2003, to celebrate UEFA's jubilee, he was selected by the Faroe Islands Football Association as the country's Golden Player - the greatest player of the last 50 years.
