Fu Che-wei
Fu Che-wei born December 21, 1973 (Traditional Chinese: ; Tongyong Pinyin: Fù Ché-Wěi) is a Chinese Taipei professional pool player, nicknamed "the Draw Shot Prince." Career Fu made his first notable appearance when he finished among the top 32 competitors in the 2004 WPA World Nine-ball Championship (losing to Earl Strickland). He made a comeback at the 2006 event, he was eventually eliminated by runner-up Ralf Souquet in the semi-finals. The performance would win earn him a place in the following years event, but was eliminated in the second round to Mika Immonen. Che-Wei reached the final of the 2012 WPA World Eight-ball Championships; defeating Huidji See in the quarter-finals 9–4, and Liu Haitao 9–3 in the semi-final, before losing in the final to Chang Jung-lin 11–6. 8-Ball
Eight-ball (also spelled 8-ball or eightball, and sometimes called solids and stripes, spots and stripes or rarely highs and lows) is a discipline of pool played on a billiard table with six pockets, cue sticks, and sixteen billiard balls (a and fifteen ). The object balls include seven solid-colored balls numbered 1 through 7, seven striped balls numbered 9 through 15, and the black 8 ball. After the balls are scattered with a , a player is assigned either the group of solid or striped balls once they have legally pocketed a ball from that group. 2007 WPA World Nine-ball Championship
The 2007 World Nine-ball Championship was the 18th annual international nine-ball pool tournament for men sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA). It was held at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines from 3–11 November 2007. It was the second consecutive time the tournament has been held in the Philippines. The tournament is sponsored by Matchroom Sport, which has sponsored the event since 1999. 128 participants from 46 WPA member countries competed for US$400,000 in total prize money, including defending champion Ronato Alcano of the Philippines. The World Team Championship is a pool World Championship for national teams sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA). the event founded in 2010 by the WPA and was held every two years until 2014; the event was revived in 2022. History The first edition of the World Team Championship was contested in 2010 in Hanover. The British team of Darren Appleton, Daryl Peach, Imran Majid, Karl Boyes and Mark Gray won the tournament in the final against the Philippines. The WPA 10-Ball World Championship 2008 was a ten-ball pool tournament held from September 29 to October 5, 2008, at the Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. The first edition of the WPA World Ten-ball Championship, it featured a field of 128 players competing in a double-elimination and then single-elimination tournament. The total prize fund for the event was $400,000 with $100,000 being awarded to the winner. The event was won by England's Darren Appleton, winning his first world championship, defeating nineteen year old Taiwanese Wu Chia-ching in the final 13–11. The WPA World Ten-ball Championship is a professional ten-ball pool tournament sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA). The event was first held in 2008 in the Philippines, followed by playings there in 2009 and 2011. After not being contested for several years, it was resurrected in 2015 by boxer Manny Pacquiao, who successfully campaigned to the WPA for the championship to be moved from Metro Manila to General Santos. An event was announced in June 2018, but was postponed until relocating to the Las Vegas Valley in 2019. The scheduled 2020 championship was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chang Jung-lin
Chang Jung-lin (born May 2, 1985) is a Taiwanese 8-ball and Nine-ball pool player. He became WPA World Eight-ball Champion in 2012 and won the silver medal at the 2013 World Games for Nine-ball. Jun-Lin is a former world number 1, having done so first after winning WPA World Eight-ball Championship in 2012. He studied at Chinese Culture University and is currently married. The 2012 WPA World Eight-ball Championship was a professional eight-ball championship, organized by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA), and held 11–18 February 2012 at the Fujairah Exhibition Centre of the Al Diar Siji Hotel in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. Mika Immonen
Mika Immonen (born 17 December 1972) is a Finnish professional Hall of Fame pool player, nicknamed "The Iceman." Career Immonen won the 2001 WPA World Nine-ball Championship in Cardiff, Wales. That same year, he was the runner-up to Corey Deuel in the US Open Nine-ball Championship In 2002 he won the UPA International Ten-ball Championship. He has represented Team Europe on thirteen occasions in the Mosconi Cup, most recently in 2013.
