Frédérique Lambert
Frédérique T. Lambert (born March 27, 1992) is a Canadian racquetball player. Lambert is the current Canadian Champion in Women's Singles and Women's Doubles, and has won eleven Canadian Championships: six in Women's Singles and five in Women's Doubles. She has been a member of the Canadian National Team since 2008, and has won several medals in international competitions, including a silver medal in Mixed Doubles at the 2022 World Championships. Lambert was the #2 ranked player in back to back Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) seasons: 2016-17 and 2017-18. Junior career - 2005-2011 Lambert was the International Racquetball Federation (IRF) World Junior Champion in Girl's U14 in 2007, and also got silver in Girl's U14 Doubles that year. Christie Van Hees
Christie Van Hees (born July 5, 1977) is a Canadians, Canadian retired racquetball player. Van Hees won two Racquetball World Championships, World Championships in women's singles and was the number one Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour, women's professional player at the end of the 2004-2005 season. Professional career Van Hees's three US Open Racquetball Championships - the most prestigious pro racquetball title - are the third most by a woman behind Paola Longoria with six and Rhonda Rajsich with four. Van Hees won in 2000 and 2005, defeating Rajsich in the finals both years, and then again in 2006, when she defeated Cheryl Gudinas in the final. Rhonda Rajsich
Rhonda Rajsich (born October 7, 1978) is an American racquetball player. She has been World Champion in Women's Singles twice, and Pan American Champion 6 times (4 times in Women's Singles & twice in Women's Doubles), as well as US Open champion four times. Rajsich was the #1 player on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour season ending rankings four times – three straight seasons from 2005–06 to 2007-08 and then again in 2010–11. She is of Serbian descent. Junior career Rajsich played racquetball several years as a junior with some success, although most of it came in doubles. Racquetball At The 2011 Pan American Games – Women's Singles
Racquetball is a racquet sport and a team sport played with a hollow rubber ball on an indoor or outdoor court. Joseph Sobek invented the modern sport of racquetball in 1950, adding a stringed racquet to paddleball in order to increase velocity and control. Unlike most racquet sports, such as tennis and badminton, there is no net to hit the ball over, and, unlike squash, no tin (out of bounds area at the bottom of front wall) to hit the ball above. Also, the court's walls, floor, and ceiling are legal playing surfaces, with the exception of court-specific designated hinders being out-of-bounds. Racquetball is played between various players on a team who try to bounce the ball with the racquet onto the ground so it hits the wall, so that an opposing team’s player cannot bounce it back to the wall. 2011 Pan American Games
The 2011 Pan American Games, officially the XVI Pan American Games () and commonly known as Guadalajara 2011, were an international multi-sport event held from October 14–30, 2011, in Guadalajara, Mexico. Paola Longoria
Paola Michelle Longoria López (born 20 July 1989) is a Mexican racquetball player. She is the current Women's World Champion in Singles and the Team event, winning both divisions at the International Racquetball Federation (IRF) 2024 World Championships in San Antonio, Texas. Longoria is the most winning player in IRF World Championship history, and she is the only woman to win both singles and doubles at Worlds. Longoria is also the #1 player on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) tour, and was the first Mexican woman to attain the #1 pro ranking, doing so at the end of the 2008–09 season. She repeated the feat at the end of 2009–2010 season, and has been #1 for ten consecutive seasons. 2010 Racquetball World Championships
The 15th Racquetball World Championships were held in Seoul (South Korea) from August 13 to 21, 2010, with 16 men's national teams and 11 women's national teams; and several players in the Singles and Doubles competition. The incumbent champions in men's and women's singles were Americans Rocky Carson and Rhonda Rajsich, respectively, and they successfully defended their titles in Seoul. In doubles, the Americans successfully defended the men's doubles title, and Mitch Williams was part of the winning team again, although in 2010 he won with Ben Croft while in 2008 Jason Thoerner was his partner. Susana Acosta
Susana Acosta (born 8 December 1976) is a Mexican racquetball player. A left handed player, Acosta has won several gold medals for Mexico, including at the 2003 Pan American Games. She's also played on the Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) and been ranked as high as 4th (in 2012-13). Career begins - 1998-2006 Acosta began playing the women's pro tour in 1998, when she played at the US Open Racquetball Championships for the first time, losing to Jackie Paraiso in the Round of 16. She was in half of the pro events in the 1998-99 season, and finished No. 13 in the rankings. In her 2nd US Open Racquetball Championships, Acosta reached the semi-finals of the 1999 US Open by defeating Kersten Hallander in the quarterfinals, but then lost to Jackie Paraiso in the semis. Samantha Salas
Samantha Salas Solís (born 15 December 1986) is a Mexican racquetball player. Salas has won six World Championship titles in her career - five in Women's Doubles (all with Paola Longoria) and one in Mixed Doubles (with Rodrigo Montoya). She has also won six Pan American Games gold medals: three in Women's Doubles and three in the women's team event. Salas was the second Mexican woman to finish in the top 10 rankings on the women's pro tour, doing so at the end of the 2006–07 season. Salas was ranked 3rd at the end of the 2019-20 Ladies Professional Racquetball Tour (LPRT) season, which was her tenth season in the top 10.
