Frozen Ghost
Frōzen Ghōst was a Canadian rock band formed in 1985 in Toronto by Arnold Lanni and Wolf Hassel, who were previously with the band Sheriff. The band received a Juno Award for " Most Promising Group of the Year" in 1987. The group placed five songs in the Canadian top 40 between 1987 and 1992, including "Should I See" and "Head Over Heels". "Should I See", an anti-censorship song, also became a minor hit in the United States, reaching number 69 on Billboard's Hot 100 singles in 1987. The video for that song was nominated at the 1987 Juno Awards for " Best Video of the Year". Biography The group was formed out of the ashes of the band, Sheriff, which had disbanded after a moderately successful run, having reached top 10 on the Canadian music charts with " When I'm With You". Arnold Lanni
Arnold David Lanni (born May 4, 1956) is a Canadian record producer and former member of Frōzen Ghōst and Sheriff. He wrote Sheriff's most successful song, " When I'm with You." History Lanni was a founding member of Canadian rock band Sheriff in 1979. The band would only release one album (their 1982 self-titled effort, which included "When I'm with You" and another minor hit, "You Remind Me") before breaking up in 1985. Sheriff members Lanni and Wolf Hassel then formed Frozen Ghost, which existed 1985 to 1993. Lanni was a guitarist, keyboardist and vocalist for this project. In 2000 Lanni was nominated as producer of the year at the Juno Awards. ''Nice Place to Visit'' is the second album by the Canadian band Frōzen Ghōst, released in 1988. It had sold more than 50,000 copies before the end of the year. The album was recorded in a studio set up by the band in a Toronto warehouse. Arnold Lanni used the album to experiment with electronic instrumentation and sampling. Critical reception '' The Globe and Mail'' wrote that "the band sounds as if it has been mastered by the AOR sound as much as it has mastered it." The ''Vancouver Sun'' called the album "prog-rock pop, with dumb lyrics." The ''Ottawa Citizen'' deemed it "a sleepy wash of overdubs channeled into soft-sell protest music." ''RPM'' ( and later ) was a Canadian music-industry publication that featured song and album charts for Canada. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. ''RPM'' stood for "Records, Promotion, Music". The magazine's title varied over the years, including ''RPM Weekly'' and ''RPM Magazine''. Steven DeMarchi is a Canadian guitarist, backing vocalist and songwriter. He is best known as the co-founder and lead guitarist of the bands Sheriff (1979–1985) and Alias (1988–1991). DeMarchi also played guitar for The Cranberries (1996–2003) and was the main guitarist for Dolores O'Riordan (2005–2008). As a Billboard hit songwriter, DeMarchi is known for co-writing the hit songs " More Than Words Can Say", a 1990 Number 1 hit on the BillBoard Hot AC chart and Number 2 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 and “Haunted Heart”, a 1990 Number 18 hit on the US Mainstream Rock chart. Freddy Curci
Federico "Freddy" Curci (born October 30, 1962) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. He was lead vocalist for the rock band Sheriff and later founded and became frontman for the band Alias, a position he retains to this day. Curci provided lead vocals on the Sheriff song " When I'm with You", which reached the number one spot in 1989, and the Alias power ballad " More Than Words Can Say", which reached the number two spot in 1990 on the ''Billboard'' charts. Finger Eleven is a Canadian rock band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 1990. They have released seven studio albums (six as Finger Eleven and one as Rainbow Butt Monkeys), with their album ''The Greyest of Blue Skies'' bringing them into the mainstream.
