Fritz Bélizaire
Fritz Bélizaire () is a Haitian politician and civil engineer who was nominated by four of the seven parties of the Transitional Presidential Council to act as Prime Minister of Haiti. Before being nominated, he was the Minister of Youth and Sports from 2006 to 2011 under President René Préval and as an executive in the Ministry of Public Works, Transportation and Communications. Bélizaire has been described as "little known", but was praised by Edgard Leblanc Fils, who was chosen the same day by the Transitional Presidential Council to be its president. Though designated by a majority, the choice was contested within the council. As a result, the "Indissoluble Majority Bloc" (BMI), composed of Smith Augustin, Emmanuel Vertilaire, Louis Gérald Gilles and Edgard Leblanc Fils, agreed to respect the procedure laid out in the 3 April 2024 agreement, thereby giving the other sectors a chance to make nominations. René Préval
René Garcia Préval (; 17 January 1943 – 3 March 2017) was a Haitian Politics of Haiti, politician and agronomist who twice was President of Haiti, from early 1996 to early 2001, and again from mid-2006 to mid-2011. He was also List of Prime Ministers of Haiti, Prime Minister from early to late 1991 under the presidency of Jean-Bertrand Aristide. In addition to being the first elected head of state since independence to serve a full term, the first to be elected to full terms of office without succeeding, the first to peacefully transfer power, and the first former prime minister to be elected president, Préval was also the first elected head of state in Haitian history to do so. Préval promoted privatization of government companies, agrarian reform, and investigations of human rights abuses. The Transitional Presidential Council (TPC; ; ) is a temporary body constituted by the Council of Ministers on 12 April 2024 and sworn in at the National Palace on 25 April to exercise the powers and duties of the president of Haiti either until an elected president is inaugurated or until 7 February 2026, whichever comes first. Background The gradual disintegration of Haitian state institutions during the Haitian crisis led to calls for acting prime minister Ariel Henry to step aside and surrender the ''de facto'' head of state functions. Edgard Leblanc Fils (born 18 August 1955) is a Haitian politician who was president of the Senate from 1995 to 2000 and was the president of the Transitional Presidential Council from April to October 2024. Garry Conille (; born 26 February 1966) is a Haitian academic, development worker, politician, and author. He served as the acting prime minister of Haiti from 3 June to 11 November 2024. He previously served as the Prime Minister from 2011 to 2012, submitting his resignation on 24 February 2012, and being officially succeeded by Laurent Lamothe on 16 May 2012.
