Free Foresters
Free Foresters Cricket Club is an England, English amateur cricket club, established in 1856 for players from the Midland counties of England. It is a 'wandering' (or nomadic) club, having no home ground. The Free Foresters were founded by the Rev. William Kirkpatrick Riland Bedford, who had been appointed rector of Sutton Coldfield in 1850. At Oxford University, he had discovered cricket and in 1847 he had set up the Sutton Coldfield Cricket Club. The name of the Free Foresters was chosen to reflect that archery had been popular at the Rectory Park long before cricket was introduced. The club played its first match on 20 July 1856 against the Pilgrims of the Dee, at the Rectory Ground in Sutton Coldfield. In 1863, the Free Foresters presented the rector with a silver salver as a token of their esteem. It can be seen at Lord's cricket ground. Richard Hutton (cricketer)
Richard Anthony Hutton (born 6 September 1942) is a former English cricketer, who played in five Test matches for the England cricket team in 1971. A right-handed batsman and right-arm seam bowler, Hutton's bowling was probably his stronger discipline, but he was considered an all-rounder. He played first-class cricket for Yorkshire County Cricket Club. He is the son of cricketer Len Hutton, described by ''Wisden Cricketers' Almanack'' as "one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket." Life and career He was educated at Repton School, where he developed a reputation as an all-round cricketer, and Christ's College, Cambridge, being awarded a blue at Cambridge. He played for Yorkshire from 1962 until 1974, and for Transvaal in South Africa. Edward Hyde (Cambridge Cricketer)
Edward Richard Bebbington Hyde (born 12 December 1997) is an English wicketkeeper batsman. He was born in Huntingdon and attended St John's College School in Cambridge and Tonbridge School. He was then awarded a Skinners' Company exhibition to Jesus College, Cambridge. Cricket After playing at school and through the Cambridgeshire (Under-10 to Under-15) and Kent (Under-14 to Under-17) age-groups, he has played for Cambridge University Cricket Club, Cambridge MCCU and Cambridgeshire County Cricket Club. Paddy Sadler
Patrick Thomas Sadler (born 28 September 1991). is an English cricketer who has played for Cambridge University Cricket Club, captaining the side for the 2013 season, Cambridge MCCU and Scotland Under-19, which he captained in the 2012 Under-19 Cricket World Cup: he also played for the Scotland Development XI. He was born in Leytonstone and attended the Royal High School, Edinburgh and Churchill College, Cambridge. On going down from Cambridge in 2014, he became a teacher and Master in Charge of Cricket at Tonbridge School until 2018. Twenty20
Twenty20 (abbreviated T20) is a shortened format of cricket. At the professional level, it was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in 2003 for the county cricket, inter-county competition. In a Twenty20 game, the two teams have a single innings each, which is restricted to a maximum of twenty over (cricket), overs. Together with First-class cricket, first-class and List A cricket, Twenty20 is one of the three forms of cricket recognised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as being played at the highest level, both internationally and domestically. A typical Twenty20 match lasts just over 3 hours, with each innings lasting around 90 minutes and an official 10-minute break between the innings. Bedfordshire County Cricket Club is one of 20 Minor County clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Bedfordshire. The team is currently a member of the Minor Counties Championship Eastern Division and plays in the MCCA Knockout Trophy. Minor Counties Of English And Welsh Cricket
The National Counties, known as the Minor Counties before 2020, are the cricketing counties of England and Wales that do not have first-class status. The game is administered by the National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA), which comes under the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB). There are currently twenty teams in National Counties cricket: nineteen representing historic counties of England, plus the Wales National County Cricket Club. Of the 39 historic counties of England, 17 have a first-class county cricket team (the 18th first-class county is Glamorgan in Wales) and 19 participate in the National Counties championship. Since 2021, Cumberland and Westmorland have been represented by Cumbria in the National Counties championship, while the remaining two historic counties, Huntingdonshire and Rutland, have associations with other counties (Huntingdonshire with Cambridgeshire and Rutland with Leicestershire). The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding valuable service in a wide range of useful activities. It comprises five classes of awards across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a Orders, decorations, and medals of the United Kingdom#Modern honours, knight if male or a dame (title), dame if female.
