François Pilon
François Pilon (born August 25, 1958) is a politician in the Canadian province of Quebec. He was elected to the House of Commons of Canada in the 2011 federal election as the member for Laval—Les Îles. Pilon is a member of the New Democratic Party. Background Pilon was born in 1958 in Laval and has a background in architectural design. He is active in the labour movement, having served as vice-president of the Syndicat des Cols Bleus de la Ville de Laval from late 1998 to 2006. Laval—Les Îles () is a federal electoral district in Quebec, Canada, that has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada since 2004. Its population in 2001 was 100,137. Of the population, 15.9% are Christian Orthodox, and 14.0% are of Greek ethnic origin, both the highest such percentages in Canada. Geography The district includes the neighbourhoods of Îles-Laval, Laval-Ouest, Laval-sur-le-Lac, Sainte-Dorothée, the western part of the neighbourhood of Fabreville and the western part of Chomedey in the City of Laval. Action Laval is a political party active at the municipal level in Québec in the Laval (Québec), City of Laval. The party was founded by the former provincial deputy for LaFontaine, Jean-Claude Gobé in April 2013, in regard of the municipal elections of November 3, 2013, in the province of Quebec. Two city councilors were elected, placing the party second in the ballot and became the official opposition.
