František Rosický
František Vilém Rosický (17 December 1847 – 17 July 1909) was a botanist and pedagogue from Bohemia. Along with his brother Josef, he published a book on the seasonal flowering plants of Bohemia. His son Vojtěch Rosický (1880–1942) was a mineralogist and Nazi victim. Life and work Rosický was born in Nové Dvory (Žďár nad Sázavou District), Nové Dvory, the son of Vojtěch and Marie née Běloušková. He worked in Prague from 1870 as a school teacher and married Maria Webrová in 1877. He became involved in local natural history. From 1888 he headed a gymnasium in Roudnice nad Labem and from 1894 he was a school inspector. He wrote a popular science text on the Spring flowers in 1885. In 1876 he wrote on the myriapods of Bohemia. His brother Josef (b. 1860) was also a school teacher and wrote books on the seasonal flora.
