František Dostál
František Dostál (21 July 1938 – 5 December 2022) was a Czech photographer. Life and career Born in Prague, the son of a maid and a tailor, during his youth Dostál was a junior national champion in high jump The high jump is a track and field event in which competitors must jump unaided over a horizontal bar placed at measured heights without dislodging it. In its modern, most-practiced format, a bar is placed between two standards with a crash mat f ..., and a record holder in the sprint relay and high jump. He studied at the Industrial School of Mechanical Engineering and got his first camera at 16 years old. He got his first published photo in 1964, in the weekly magazine '. His favorite subjects were ordinary people randomly picked on Prague's streets, and one of his favorite locations was the Sázava Swimming Pool. The First Czechoslovak Republic, often colloquially referred to as the First Republic, was the first Czechoslovakia, Czechoslovak state that existed from 1918 to 1938, a union of ethnic Czechs and Slovaks. High Jump
The high jump is a track and field event in which competitors must jump unaided over a horizontal bar placed at measured heights without dislodging it. In its modern, most-practiced format, a bar is placed between two standards with a crash mat for landing. Since ancient times, competitors have successively improved their technique until developing the universally preferred Fosbury Flop, in which athletes run towards the bar and leap head first with their back to the bar. The discipline is, alongside the pole vault, one of two vertical clearance events in the Athletics at the Summer Olympics, Olympic athletics program. It is contested at the World Championships in Athletics and the World Athletics Indoor Championships, and is a common occurrence at track and field meets. Sázava (, ) is a town in Benešov District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 3,900 inhabitants. The Sázava () is a river in the Czech Republic, a right tributary of the Vltava River. It flows through the Vysočina Region, Vysočina and Central Bohemian Region, Central Bohemian regions. It is long, making it the List of rivers of the Czech Republic, 6th longest river in the Czech Republic.
