Frant Gwo
Guo Fan (; born 15 September 1980), credited as Frant Gwo in Latin script, is a Chinese filmmaker. Gwo debuted as a director in 2011 with the film ''Lee's Adventure'', and then directed the box-office hit ''My Old Classmate'' in 2014. In 2019, he directed China's first big-budget science fiction film, ''The Wandering Earth'', which became one of the highest-grossing Chinese films of all time, garnering national acclaim. Its sequel, ''The Wandering Earth 2'', was first released in China globally on 22 January 2023. Early life Frant Gwo was born Guo Fan on 15 December 1980 in Jining, Shandong, China. During his early childhood, he developed an interest in painting, and in 1983, he studied at the Jining Municipal Bureau of Expression. The Sacrifice (2020 Film)
''The Sacrifice'' () is a 2020 Chinese anthology war drama film directed by Guan Hu, Frant Gwo, and Lu Yang, and starring Zhang Yi, Wu Jing, Li Jiuxiao, Vision Wei, and Deng Chao. The film depicts the Korean War from three perspectives and segments, each directed by a different director. The film is noted for having done its production in less than two months. Filming started for the film in August 2020 and wrapped on September 20, 2020. The film was originally scheduled to be screened on 25 October 2020, but the date was moved up to 23 October. Trojan Horse
In Greek mythology, the Trojan Horse () was a wooden horse said to have been used by the Greeks during the Trojan War to enter the city of Troy and win the war. The Trojan Horse is not mentioned in Homer, Homer's ''Iliad'', with the poem ending before the war is concluded, and it is only briefly mentioned in the ''Odyssey''. It is described at length in the ''Aeneid'', in which Virgil recounts how, after a fruitless ten-year siege, the Greeks constructed a huge wooden horse at the behest of Odysseus, and hid a select force of men inside, including Odysseus himself. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy.
