Frankfort is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. Located within Benzie County, Michigan, Benzie County, the city sits upon the shore of Lake Michigan at the mouth of the Betsie River. The city had a population of 1,252 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. History Father Jacques Marquette, one of the first Jesuit missionaries to the Great Lakes Indians, may have died and been buried in Frankfort in May 1675. Very limited and inexact records make the death site a matter of considerable debate among historians. Frankfort, Indiana
Frankfort is a city in Clinton County, Indiana, United States. It had a population of 16,715 as of the 2020 census. The city is the county seat of Clinton County. History Brothers John, William and Nicholas Pence, previously of Warren County, Ohio, settled on the land on which Frankfort now stands in 1829, having entered it from the government in 1827 and 1828. In 1830, the brothers donated of the land to the county commissioners, a donation which led to the establishment of the county seat at that site rather than in Jefferson, a community which had also been vying for the honor. The new town was named Frankfort at the brothers' request and honors their German great-grandparents' home of Frankfurt am Main. The town of Frankfort was laid off on the tract by William Douglass, the county agent, and the plat filed on June 8, 1830. Frankfort is a city in Marshall County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 730. History Frankfort was laid out in 1867 when the Central Branch Union Pacific Railroad was built through the area. The nearby post office of Nottingham, established in 1857, moved roughly a half-mile northwest to meet the railroad. It was named for Frank Schmidt, a member of the town company. Frankfort was incorporated as a city of the third class in 1875. The town lost 32 men during World War II, more per capita than any other community in the USA. Frankfort High School is located at 328 Shelby Street in Frankfort, Kentucky, United States. It is part of the Frankfort Independent School District which consists of Second Street School, Panther Transition Academy, and Frankfort High School. In December 1885, the original building burned. Students had classes in various buildings in downtown until the school could be rebuilt. The new building was built large enough to allow for a full high school. After the fire, Frankfort High School reopened in 1889. The school had a 3-year program and the 1st graduating of 7 girls was in 1892. In 1892, Frankfort City Schools became the first school in Kentucky to offer kindergarten. A commercial school program was added in 1904. A 4-year program was started in 1909. Frankfort High School (FHS) is a public high school in Ridgeley, West Virginia, United States. It is part of the Mineral County Schools district. History Frankfort High School was built as a result of the consolidation of Fort Ashby High School and Ridgeley High School, the doors of Frankfort opened in 1976, and the first graduating class was in 1977. The high school was headed by Joseph E. Riley for 16 years up until his retirement in September 2020. Following his retirement, Riley was succeeded by Orie Pancione.
