The Frankfort Micropolitan Statistical Area, as defined by the United States Census Bureau, is an area consisting of two counties in central Kentucky, anchored by the city of Frankfort. As of the 2000 census, the Micropolitan Statistical Area (μSA) had a population of 66,798 (though a July 1, 2009 estimate placed the population at 70,758). The Frankfort Micropolitan Statistical Area is part of the Lexington-Fayette–Richmond–Frankfort, KY combined statistical area. Bridgeport, Kentucky
Bridgeport is an unincorporated community in western Franklin County, Kentucky, United States, along on U.S. Route 60 outside of Frankfort. It is part of the Frankfort Micropolitan Statistical Area. An elementary school, Bridgeport Elementary, was the focal point of the community for many years. The school has since been replaced by the new Bridgeport Elementary, located in the city limits. Several churches now hold the community together, since the Bridgeport Ruritan Club closed in 2011. Name The name of the community is believed to have come from the two covered bridges that existed in the area, one over Armstrong's Branch and the other over South Benson Creek. Lawrenceburg is a home rule-class city in Anderson County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 11,728 at the 2020 census. It is the seat of its county. Lawrenceburg is part of the Frankfort, Kentucky, micropolitan statistical area. History The site of Lawrenceburg was settled in the early 1780s by a German immigrant named Jacob Kaufman and was first called Kaufman's or Coffman's Station.
