France Forstnerič
France Forstnerič (29 January 1933 – 22 May 2007) was a Slovene poet, writer, and journalist. Forstnerič was born in Pobrežje near Ptuj in 1933. He trained as a teacher and taught for a number of years before becoming a journalist in 1958. He worked for the newspapers '' Večer'' and ''Delo'' and also obtained a degree in sociology from the University of Ljubljana in 1979. He wrote for adults and children. He is best known for his poetry that he started publishing in the early 1960s. Pobrežje, Videm
Pobrežje () is a settlement south of Ptuj in the Municipality of Videm in eastern Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Styria, Styria. It is now included in the Drava Statistical Region. In fields around the settlement remains of Ancient Rome, Roman-era Grave (burial), graves and a structure, probably a villa rustica, have been found. Levstik Award Laureates
Fran Levstik (28 September 1831 – 16 November 1887) was a Slovenes, Slovene writer, political activist, playwright and critic. He was one of the most prominent exponents of the Young Slovene political movement. Life and work Levstik was born in 1831 in Dolnje Retje (now part of the municipality of Velike Lašče) in Lower Carniola (then part of the Austrian Empire, today in Slovenia) in a peasant Slovenes, Slovene family. Levstik was the first notable writer of Slovene epic prose. Among his most known works are the short tale ''Martin Krpan, Martin Krpan From Vrh'' (), which became a classic work of Slovene literature, and the Travel literature, itinerary ''A Journey from Litija to Čatež'' (), the main objective of which is a literary manifesto. Socialist Autonomous Province Of Vojvodina
The Socialist Autonomous Province of Vojvodina was one of two autonomous provinces within the Socialist Republic of Serbia, in the former Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. The province is the direct predecessor to the modern-day Serbian Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. The province was formally created in 1945 in the aftermath of the World War II in Yugoslavia, as the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina. In 1968, it was granted a higher level of political autonomy, and the adjective ''Socialist'' was added to its official name.
