Found Object
A found object (a calque from the French ''objet trouvé''), or found art, is art created from undisguised, but often modified, items or products that are not normally considered materials from which art is made, often because they already have a non-art function. Pablo Picasso first publicly utilized the idea when he pasted a printed image of chair caning onto his painting titled '' Still Life with Chair Caning'' (1912). Marcel Duchamp is thought to have perfected the concept several years later when he made a series of readymades, consisting of completely unaltered everyday objects selected by Duchamp and designated as art. The most famous example is '' Fountain'' (1917), a standard urinal purchased from a hardware store and displayed on a pedestal, resting on its back. Rival Schools (band)
Rival Schools is an American post-hardcore band from New York City, New York. For most of their tenure, the band has featured Walter Schreifels on vocals and guitar, Ian Love on guitar, Cache Tolman on bass guitar, and Sam Siegler on drums. Formed by Schreifels, frontman of Quicksand, Rival Schools is a hardcore supergroup; its members were alumni of '80s and '90s hardcore bands including Gorilla Biscuits (Schreifels), CIV (Siegler), Youth of Today (Schreifels and Siegler) and Iceburn (Tolman). The band's name (and that of their first LP) comes from the Capcom fighting game '' Rival Schools: United By Fate''. In their short history, the band toured both the United Kingdom (in support of A) and the United States. ''My First Summer'' is a 2020 Australian coming-of-age film written and directed by Katie Found. It stars Markella Kavenagh and Maiah Stewardson. Plot 16 year-old Grace is interviewed by police detectives after witnessing a woman drown in a reservoir. Despite seeing another girl near the scene, Grace claims that she was the only witness. She tracks down the other girl, Claudia, to her home, and, after a tense confrontation, learns that she is the daughter of the drowned woman—a depressed, reclusive writer named Veronica Fox—and that she was too terrified to commit suicide with her mother. Grace resolves to help Claudia through her trauma and introduce her to things from the outside world, including candy and strawberry milk. Found Aircraft Canada was an aircraft manufacturer based in Parry Sound, Ontario. Found originally formed in 1946 to produce a new bush plane design, the FBA-1, but entered production in 1964 with the Found FBA-2. The original company ceased production of the FBA-2 in 1967. In 1994 the company re-formed and starting in 1997 placed the FBA-2 back in production as the FBA-2C1 Bush Hawk and FBA-2C2 Bush Hawk-XP. In 2008, two new and improved models were developed for the private pilot market. Both were built under their Expedition Aircraft brand, launched in 2007. The two models (the E350 and the E350XC) were planned for both tricycle and conventional gear. The E350 was marketed as a Cessna 206 competitor, featuring higher performance, four doors, and STOL performance. The Expedition E350 was FAA type certified in December 2008. Found (foaled 13 March 2012) is an Irish Thoroughbred racehorse. Sired by Galileo out of the mare Red Evie, she represents the Coolmore Stud organisation and is trained by Aidan O'Brien. In 2014 she won a strong maiden race on her debut and then finished third in the Moyglare Stud Stakes before winning the Prix Marcel Boussac. She was rated the equal-best two-year-old filly to race in Europe in 2014. In 2015 she finished second in her first three starts (including the Irish 1,000 Guineas and the Coronation Stakes) before winning the Royal Whip Stakes. "Found" is a song recorded by Canadian country singer and songwriter Dan Davidson for his debut solo extended play, ''Songs for Georgia'' (2017). Davidson co-wrote the song with fellow musician Clayton Bellamy, while Jeff Dalziel produced the track. It was released independently on March 7, 2016 as Davidson's second solo single. "Found" was a radio hit, reaching number 16 on the Canada Country chart, making it the highest-charting independent single on Canadian country radio. FOUND are a Scottish experimental pop band and arts collective from Edinburgh, Scotland. The founding members, Ziggy Campbell, Tommy Perman and Kevin Sim met while studying fine art at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen. They began working on sound art installations together whilst in their final year at college in 2001. Each project they do is given a catalogue number and documented on their website. In 2005 they formed a band in order to play live music at the openings of their ''Stop Look Listen'' exhibition tour (which toured from Peacock Visual Arts, Aberdeen to The Meffan, Forfar and the Royal Scottish Academy in Edinburgh). They recruited the keyboardist Gavin Sutherland in 2005, and then Alan Stockdale joined on drums and percussion at the beginning of 2006.
