Forlì Football Club, commonly known as Forlì (), is an Italian football club based in Forlì, Emilia-Romagna, who compete in Serie D, the fourth tier of the Italian football league system. History From the foundation to 2007 The original club, called ''Foot-Ball Club Forlì'', was founded in 1919, and was last in Serie B of Northern Italy in 1947. Later, the name changed into ''Associazione Calcio Forlì''. Forlì placed last in 2005–06 Serie C2 season, being relegated to Serie D, but was excluded by the federation because of financial troubles. The historical club was put in the Terza Categoria division with the new name ''ASD Nuovo Forlì 1919''. From 2007 to today In July 2007 football in Forlì was reborn as Football Club Forlì Dilettantistica which became the heir of the old ''F.C. Stadio Tullo Morgagni
Stadio (literally, ''Stadium'') is an Italian pop rock band formed in 1977. The members are Giovanni Pezzoli (drums), Roberto Drovandi (bass guitar), Andrea Fornili (guitar), and Gaetano Curreri (vocals and keyboard). Formation and early recordings The group had a long-standing arrangement as an accompanying band to Lucio Dalla, a Bologna-born singer. Stadio had its first notable public appearance in the mid-1970s, when the group appeared on Lucio Dalla's 1975 collaborative album with Roberto Roversi, '' Anidride Solforosa'' (Italian for "sulfur dioxide"). The members of Stadio on this album were Giovanni Pezzoli playing the drums, Marco Nanni playing the bass and Fabio Liberators playing the keyboard. Terza Categoria
The Terza Categoria is the lowest level of amateur football in Italy. It is the ninth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Terza Categoria level progresses to their closest regional league in the Seconda Categoria level. Unlike all the levels above the Terza Categoria, there is no relegation. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a provincial level from the Local and Provincial Committees. It is also the only Italian football division where head coaches are not requested to own any license released by the federation. Serie C2 was the fourth highest football league in Italy, the lowest with a professional status. History Before the 1978–79 season, there were only three professional football leagues in Italy, the third being Serie C. The league menaging the C was also organizing the semi-professional Serie D. In 1978, it was decided to split the Serie C into Serie C1 (the third highest league) and Serie C2, moving the remnants of the Serie D to the amatorial sector as Campionato Interregionale. Upon its inception in 1978–79, Serie C2 consisted of four groups of 18 teams, with two promotions and three relegations. The Eccellenza (, "excellence") is the fifth level (since 2014–15) of Italian football. It is a regional league, composed of 28 divisions divided geographically. All 20 regions are represented by at least one division except for Piedmont and Aosta Valley which share 2 divisions. The Promozione (, "promotion") is the sixth level in the Italian football league system. Each individual league winner within the Promozione level progresses to their closest regional league in the Eccellenza level. Depending on each league's local rules, a number of teams each year are relegated from each league, to the 7th level of Italian football, the Prima Categoria. This level of Italian football is completely amateur and is run on a regional level. History in brief In the past, from 1904 to 1912, the Seconda Categoria had been the second level of Italian local regional tournaments in which main teams used to field apprentices and reserves.
