Foreign Correspondent (TV Program)
''Foreign Correspondent'' is a weekly Australian documentary series and current affairs program screened on ABC, Tuesdays at (AEDT), Wednesdays at 11.30am as well as on ABC News on Saturdays at 6.30pm. It is also available on ''iView'' or on the ''Foreign Correspondent'' website. ABC News also repeats the program on Thursdays at 2.30pm if parliament is in recess. The program premiered at on Saturday 14 March 1992. Its aim is to provide information about the happenings in other countries either on the light side of life or during crises. ''Foreign Correspondent'' has been one of Australia's leading programs in its genre since its premiere, and has won several awards, including the Walkley Awards for Excellence in Journalism and White House News Photographers' Association. Matthew Carney
Matthew Carney is an Australian journalist and television producer for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He is the executive producer of ''Four Corners''. Carney joined the ABC in 1995. ABC TV, formerly known as ABC1, is an Australian national public television network. It is owned and operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and is the flagship ABC Television network. ABC News (formerly ABC News 24; also referred to as the ABC News channel) is an Australian 24-hour news channel launched and owned by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The channel replaced the former ABC HD channel (which simulcast ABC TV in high definition) and commenced broadcasting as ABC News 24 at 7:30 pm (AEST) on Thursday, 22 July 2010. 1080i (also known as Full HD or BT.709) is a combination of frame Image resolution, resolution and scan type. 1080i is used in high-definition television (HDTV) and high-definition video. The number "1080" refers to the number of horizontal lines on the screen. The "i" is an abbreviation for interlaced video, "interlaced"; this indicates that only the even lines, then the odd lines of each frame (each image called a video field) are drawn alternately, so that only half the number of actual image frames are used to produce video. ''Four Corners'' is an Australian investigative journalism/current affairs documentary television program. Broadcast on ABC TV, it premiered on 19 August 1961 and is the longest-running Australian television program in history. Walkley Awards
The annual Walkley Awards are presented in Australia to recognise and reward excellence in journalism. They cover all media including print, television, documentary, radio, photographic and online media. The Gold Walkley is the highest prize and is chosen from all category winners. The awards are under the administration of the Walkley Foundation for Journalism. The Nikon Photography Prizes are also awarded by the Walkley Foundation at the awards ceremony, on behalf of Nikon. Sally Jane Sara AM, (born 2 March 1971 in Port Pirie, South Australia) is an Australian journalist and TV presenter. Career Sara's career began with Outback Radio (2WEB) in Bourke, New South Wales. Sara then joined the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in the late 1990s with stints at Renmark, Adelaide, Melbourne and Canberra.
