Football Junior Championships Of Poland
Football Junior Championships of Poland Under-19 () is a competition which started in the summer of 1936. 1936 The first, historic Under-19 tournament for the title of the Football Junior Championships of Poland took place in the town of Sieraków, in mid-August 1936. Invited were junior champions of all 12 regional districts of Polish Football Association (PZPN), but for unknown reasons three teams did not show up. These were champions of Wilno, Volhynia and Lublin. Thus, there were 9 teams, but this uneven number was further reduced to 8, after Gryf Toruń (champion of Pomerania) beat Brygada Częstochowa (champion of Zagłębie Dąbrowskie) 5-1 (3-0). Adam Wolanin
Adam Stanislaw Wolanin (November 13, 1919 – October 26, 1987) was a Polish American soccer forward who was a member of the U.S. national team at the 1950 FIFA World Cup. He is a member of the National Soccer Hall of Fame. Professional career Wolanin began his professional career with Polish First Division club Pogoń Lwów when he was seventeen. When Germany invaded Poland, sparking World War II in September 1939, Wolanin fled to England where he played for English First Division club Blackpool. However, he never became part of the first team before moving to the United States. He eventually settled in Chicago where he played for the Maroons and A.A.C. Eagles of the National Soccer League of Chicago. In 1950, he joined the Chicago Falcons, winning the 1953 National Challenge Cup with the team. Edmund Białas
Edmund Białas (15 August 1919 – 24 July 1991) was a Polish footballer who played for and managed Lech Poznań. He first started playing for Lech Poznań in 1931, and continued through to play for the Poland national team for eight years. He expected to play more in his early professional years, but the outbreak of the World War II stopped matches from taking place, most notably one in which he participated against Bulgaria which was abandoned mid-match. In total, Białas made 64 top division appearances for Lech, scoring 27 goals. He later became a football manager and instructor for Lech after his retirement in 1951.
