Folk Nation
The Folk Nation is an alliance of street gangs originating in Chicago, established in 1978. The alliance has since spread throughout the United States, particularly the Midwestern United States. Formation The Folk Nation was formed on November 11, 1978, within the confines of the Stateville Correctional Center. Larry Hoover, the chairman of the Gangster Disciple Nation, created the idea for the alliance and persuaded many leaders of large black, white, and Latino gangs from Chicago to join. Folk Nation was created to protect and counter from People Nation invading neighborhoods. Symbols All gangs that are members of the Folk Nation represent their allegiance by utilization of the Star of David, the digit 6, the Roman numeral VI, and a die with six dots visible. Stateville Correctional Center
Stateville Correctional Center (SCC) was a maximum security state prison for men in Crest Hill, Illinois, United States, near Chicago. It is a part of the Illinois Department of Corrections. History The old and smaller Joliet Correctional Center, which had opened in 1858 on a site in Joliet to the south-southeast, was being considered for closure. Construction commenced on the new Stateville facility in 1917, in what was then an unincorporated area of Lockport Township, opening in 1925 with capacity to accommodate 1,506 inmates. While the Stateville Correctional Center was meant to lead to the swift closure of Joliet, both prisons operated simultaneously for the rest of the 20th century. The Guardian

Tiny Rascal Gang
The Tiny Rascal Gang, (abbreviated TRG) is a primarily Cambodian-American gang based in Long Beach, California. During the 1990s, the Mexican Mafia "green light" hit lists began including the TRG, and Sureños were soon at war with them. The Mexican Mafia ordered the West Side Longo gang to put aside its rivalry with the East Side Longo and support their former rivals against the TRG. The gang was founded in 1981 for protection by Cambodian youth groups who had escaped the Cambodian genocide. Gang members are as young as 12 years old. A group left the gang and became the Asian Boyz (ABZ). Spanish Gangster Disciples
The Spanish Gangster Disciples is a street gang that originated on the south side of Chicago, respectively in the vicinity of 88th & Houston in the South Chicago neighborhood. The gang was founded by Rudy Rios, who was a former member of the Latin Scorpions street gang. It is an offshoot from Gangster Disciples. Symbolism and colors Like the original Gangster Disciples, the main symbol of the Spanish Gangster Disciples is the Star of David. La Raza Nation
La Raza Nation is a street gang founded in Chicago in 1973. Their colors are green, white, and red (same as the Mexican flag). Their symbols include the Mexican flag, cross, and a six-point star. Relations with other gangs Although La Raza Nation is affiliated with the Folk Nation, La Raza Nation has been to war with many Folk Nation gangs such as Gangster Disciples, and other Folks. Their main rivals are local gangs such as the Almighty Saints, Latin Kings, and Black P. Stones from the Back of the Yards area. Crips
The Crips are a primarily African-American alliance of street gangs that are based in the coastal regions of Southern California. Founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1969, mainly by Raymond Washington and Stanley Williams, the Crips began as an alliance between two autonomous gangs, and developed into a loosely connected network of individual " sets", often engaged in open warfare with one another. Black Disciples
The Black Disciples (often abbreviated as the BD's) is an African-American street gang that originated in Chicago, Illinois. History In 1958, a group of young teenagers from the Hyde Park, Englewood, and Kenwood areas of Chicago formed an organization known as the "Devil's Disciples". The founding members included David Barksdale, Richard Strong, Mingo Shread, Prince Old Timer, Kilroy, Leonard Longstreet, Night Walker, among others. By the beginning of 1961, David Barksdale, also known as "King David," took sole leadership of the Devil’s Disciples, and appointed different members to oversee various areas within the neighborhoods. Maniac Latin Disciples
The Maniac Latin Disciples Nation is a Hispanic street gang in Chicago and the largest in the Latino Folks Nation alliance. Originally known as only the Latin Disciples, the gang was founded by Albert "Hitler" Hernandez and other Puerto Rican teenagers in the Humboldt Park community in approximately 1966. They were influential in the history of gangs in Humboldt Park. Latin Disciples are one of the original gangs in the Folk alliance, alongside the Black Gangster Disciples, Simon City Royals, Spanish Cobras, Satan’s Disciples, Ashland Vikings, Two-Six, and others.
