Fojnička River
Fojnička River ( / Фојничка ријека, "Fojnica River") is a left tributary of the Bosna in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It flows for 46 kilometres with a basin area of 727 km2. The Željeznica and the Lepenica are tributaries of the Fojnička River. It is among the last remaining sanctuaries for huchen ( Hucho hucho) in the Bosna river basin, the others being the Krivaja, and possibly the Lašva and the Željeznica. The Bosna ( sr-Cyrl, Босна, ) is the third longest river in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is considered one of the country's three major internal rivers, along with the Neretva and the Vrbas (river), Vrbas. Fojnica
Fojnica ( sr-cyrl, Фојница) is a town and municipality located in Central Bosnia Canton of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is located west of the capital Sarajevo, in the valley of the Fojnička River, tributary of the river Bosna. Fojnica is a small town in central Bosnia and is also a balneological resort. The huchen (''Hucho hucho'') (, from German), also known as Danube salmon or redfish (), is a large species of freshwater fish in the family Salmonidae native to the Danube basin in Central and Eastern Europe. It is the type species of genus '' Hucho'' (a.k.a. the taimens), being closely related (in the same subfamily) to salmon, trout, char and lenoks. Distribution The huchen is endemic to the Danube basin in Europe where the remaining population is threatened primarily by river damming, resulting in habitat fragmentation and loss through river impoundment and disruption of the longitudinal continuity of rivers, cutting away fish from its spawning grounds, with overfishing and fisheries mismanagement as an additional issue in many areas. Krivaja (Bosna)
The Krivaja ( sr-cyrl, Криваја) is a river in central-northern parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and a right tributary of the Bosna (river), Bosna River. Its source is confluence of the Stupčanica and the Bioštica rivers at the western outskirts of town of Olovo. From there the Krivaja flows through the scenic gorge between mountains of Zvijezda (mountain near Vareš), Zvijezda and Konjuh (mountain), with lot of small mountain streams and small rivers inflow from both sides. Željeznica (Bosna)
The Željeznica ( sr-cyrl, Жељезница) is a river in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which rises at the foot of the Treskavica Mountain. It has a number of rapids and whirlpools, including those of Turovi. Kazani is regarded the most attractive place in the canyon, where round hollows, "kettles", give the impression of boiling water. The kettles are about half to one meter deep and 0,30 to 0,70 cm wide in radius, and they are frequent in the riverbed. The Željeznica river is one of the chief geographic features of the western Sarajevo field (Sarajevo polje).
