Flåklypa
''The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix'' () is a 1975 Norwegian stop-motion-animated sports film directed by Ivo Caprino. It is based on characters from a series of books by Norwegian cartoonist and author Kjell Aukrust. It is the most widely seen Norwegian film of all time, having sold some 5 million tickets since its release to a population which currently numbers just over 5 million. The film sold 28 million movie tickets in the former Soviet Union. Plot In the village of Flåklypa, ( En. Pinchcliffe), the inventor Reodor Felgen ( En. Theodore Rimspoke) lives with his animal friends Ludvig ( En. Lambert) (a nervous, pessimistic and melancholic hedgehog) and Solan Gundersen ( En. Sonny Duckworth) (a cheerful and optimistic magpie). Kjell Aukrust
Kjell Aukrust (19 March 1920 – 24 December 2002) was a Norwegian author, poet, artist and humorist. Aukrust is principally known for his Flåklypa stories and Flåklypa drawings. Personal life Aukrust was born in Alvdal Municipality in Hedmark, Norway as a son of Lars Olsen Aukrust (1886–1965) and Louise Walmsnæss (1887–1973). His father was rector at Storsteigen Agricultural School in Alvdal. He was a nephew of poet Olav Aukrust, brother of Odd Aukrust, a noted economist who was responsible for research at Statistics Norway. He was married to Kari Holter in 1947. He trained at the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry 1938–42. In 1939, one of his drawings was accepted at the Autumn Exhibition in Oslo. His memoirs of his childhood in Alvdal appeared in the series of three books: ''Simen'', ''Bonden'' and ''Bror Min'' published in 1958, 1964 and 1960. Ivo Caprino
Ivo Caprino (17 February 1920 – 8 February 2001) was a Norway, Norwegian film director and writer, best known for his puppet films. His most noted film, ''Flåklypa Grand Prix'' (Pinchcliffe Grand Prix), was made in 1975. Early life Caprino was born 17 February 1920 in Oslo, the son of Italian furniture designer Mario Caprino and the artist, Ingeborg "Ingse" Gude, who was a granddaughter of the painter Hans Gude. Early career In the mid-1940s, Caprino helped his mother design puppets for a puppet theatre, which inspired him to try making a film using his mother's designs. Ivo used the surplus puppets as inspiration for his first animated film, ''Tim and Tøffe'' (1948), the result of their collaboration. The eight minute film, however, was not released until 1949. Wenche Foss
Eva Wenche Steenfeldt Stang (5 December 1917 – 28 March 2011), better known as Wenche Foss (), was a leading Norwegian actress of stage, screen and television. Personal life Wenche Foss was born to engineer Christian August Steenfeldt-Foss (1878–1960) and Alfhild Røren. Foss grew up with an atheist mother and a devout Christian father; she inherited both views but has stated: "I could not fall asleep without the prayer." Her first marriage was to engineer and film producer Alf Scott-Hansen (1903–1961), a son of port director Alf Scott-Hansen, but the marriage was dissolved. In 1953 she married landowner and industrialist Thomas Stang (1897–1982), thus becoming a sister-in-law of Axel Heiberg Stang and daughter-in-law of Ole A. Stang and Emma Heiberg. Bjarne Sandemose
Bjarne Walter William Sandemose (17 April 1924 – 21 April 2013) was a Norwegian of Danish descent. He was born in Denmark as a son of writer Aksel Sandemose. The family migrated to Norway in 1929. Bent Fabricius-Bjerre
Bent Fabricius-Bjerre (7 December 1924 – 28 July 2020), better known internationally as Bent Fabric, was a Danish pianist and composer. Biography Bent Fabricius-Bjerre was born in Frederiksberg, Denmark. He started a jazz ensemble after World War II and founded a label, Metronome Records, in 1950. He released a series of ten inch albums on the Metronome label entitled 50 Years Of Evergreens in 1955, under the pseudonym Frank Barcley. However, he is best known for his 1961 instrumental "Omkring et flygel" (literally, "Around a Grand Piano") which became a hit in Denmark. The song was re-released worldwide under the name "Alley Cat" on Atco Records the following year, and went to #1 in Australia and #49 in Germany. TV 2 Direkte ('' English: TV 2 Live'') is a Norwegian terrestrial television channel. Its headquarters are located in Bergen. TV 2 began test broadcasting on 13 November 1991, and a year later, it was officially launched on 5 September 1992, becoming Norway's first commercial free-to-air television channel. In 1992, TV 2 A/S was admitted as full active member of the European Broadcasting Union.
