Florentino Ávidos
Florentino Ávidos (November 18, 1870 – February 28, 1956) was a Brazilian politician. He was the 17th ''president'' (governor) of the Brazilian state of Espírito Santo, and, later, a senator of that state on Brazilian Senate. Career He was an engineer by trade and was elected for governor of Espírito Santo Espírito Santo (; ) is a state in southeastern Brazil. Its capital is Vitória, and its largest city is Serra. Nestor Gomez
Nestor Gomes (8 September 1875 – 9 March 1941) was a Brazilian politician. He was state representative in Espírito Santo's Chamber of Representatives, ''president'' (governor) of Espírito Santo, and Senator of Espírito Santo in the Brazilian Senate. Gomes was born in Conceição de Macabu RJ. Although he was elected by the people for governor of Espírito Santo in early 1920, Jerônimo Monteiro, who was the governor Bernardino de Sousa Monteiro's brother and leader of the political party in charge in Espírito Santo, tried to impede Nestor Gomes from being inaugurated officially. Aristeu Borges de Aguiar ( Vitória ES, May 23, 1892 - Rio de Janeiro RJ September 1, 1951) was a Brazilian lawyer, teacher and politician. Early career He graduated in Laws in Rio de Janeiro in 1915 and worked in Vitória as a public law attorney. In 1919, he began working as a teacher of World's History and Brazilian History at the school Gymnasium of Espirito Santo. Political career In 1924, by invitation of the governor Florentino Ávidos, he occupied the functions of state's secretary for Education, for a brief time. In 1928, he was elected the 18th ''president'' (governor) of the state of Espírito Santo. It was in the time of his term as governor that the Wall Street's crisis took place, which especially affected Espirito Santo's economy, mostly dependent on the monoculture of the coffee back in that days. Espírito Santo
Espírito Santo (; ) is a state in southeastern Brazil. Its capital is Vitória, and its largest city is Serra.
