Florea Birtașu
Florea Birtașu (1 February 1930 – 9 February 2018) was a Romanian football goalkeeper. Club career Birtașu was born on 1 February 1930 and started to play football in 1950 at Flacăra Roșie București. In 1951, he joined Flacăra București where under the guidance of coach Gheorghe Bărbulescu he made his Divizia A debut on 16 June 1951 in a 0–0 draw against CCA București. Afterwards he went to play at CA Câmpulung Moldovenesc for two years. In 1954 he signed with Dinamo București, where his first performance was reaching the 1954 Cupa României final, but coach Angelo Niculescu did not use him in the eventual 2–0 loss to Metalul Reșița. In the following season, Birtașu helped the club win the first Divizia A title in its history, being used by Niculescu in 18 games. Augustin Botescu was a Romanian football manager who coached Romania at the 1960 European Nations' Cup qualifiers and Romania's Olympic team at the 1960 Summer Olympics qualifiers, failing to qualify for both tournaments. He has a total of 7 games as the national team manager, consisting of 2 victories and 5 losses (11 games, 3 victories, one draw, 7 losses, including Romania's Olympic team games). Botescu won as a manager the Romanian Cup with Progresul București in 1960. He coached Metalul București, Progresul București, Farul Constanţa and Politehnica Iași in 141 Divizia A games. 1954 Cupa României
The 1954 Cupa României was the 17th edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The trophy was won by Metalul Reșița for the first time in history. It was also the first time when a team from the second division of Romanian football won the trophy. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament. In the first round proper, two pots were made, first pot with Divizia A teams and other teams till 16 and the second pot with the rest of teams qualified in this phase. First pot teams will play away. Each tie is played as a single leg. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in extra time, and if the scored is still tight after 120 minutes, the team who plays away will qualify. In case the teams are from same city, there a replay will be played. In case the teams play in the final, there a replay will be played. The Cupa României () is a Association football, football cup competition for List of football clubs in Romania, Romanian teams which has been held annually since 1933–34 Cupa României, 1933–34, except during World War II. It is the Romania, country's main cup competition, being open to all clubs affiliated with the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) and the county football associations regardless of the league they belong to. Currently, the winner of the competition is granted a place in the UEFA Europa League qualifiers and plays the Supercupa României.
