Flog It!
''Flog It!'' is a BBC television series presented by Paul Martin (TV presenter), Paul Martin that was broadcast from 27 May 2002 to May 2020. Description The show follows a similar formula to ''Antiques Roadshow'', with members of the public bringing their antiques to be viewed and valued by a team of experts. However, unlike ''Antiques Roadshow'', the owners are then given the option to sell their items at an auction. The programme, originally broadcast as part of BBC One's afternoon schedule, subsequently appeared on BBC Two. It is shown as part of the early evening schedule for short runs, and sometimes also on Saturday afternoons. It was noted in early 2017 that ''Flog It!'' had recently filmed its 1000th episode. On 2 October 2018, it was announced by the BBC that they would be axing the show after 17 years as part of a shake-up to "modernise" the daytime schedule. Paul Martin (TV Presenter)
Paul Martin (born 5 January 1959) is a British antiques dealer and professional drummer, best known for being the presenter of various BBC television antiques programmes including ''Flog It!'', ''Trust Me, I'm a Dealer'' and ''Paul Martin's Handmade Revolution''. Biography Martin was born in Teddington, Middlesex. His family subsequently moved to Cornwall, where he was educated at Falmouth Grammar School and then studied art and woodworking at Falmouth College of Arts (now Falmouth University). He then developed parallel careers, as an antiques trader and dealer and as a session musician drummer. Martin worked with Average White Band, The Quireboys and The Dogs D'Amour in the 1990s. Normanby Hall
Normanby Hall is a classic English mansion, located near the village of Burton-upon-Stather, north of Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire. History The present hall was built in 1825–30 to the designs of Robert Smirke for Sir Robert Sheffield (1786–1862). The Sheffield family had lived on the site since 1539 and the family's titles include Dukes of Buckingham and Normanby and Sheffield baronets. It replaced a previous 17th century building. John Sheffield became Duke of Buckingham and Normanby in 1703. He built a fine mansion in London called Buckingham House. His son, the second Duke sold the house to George III and it is now known as Buckingham Palace. The house was extended and altered to designs by Walter Brierley between 1906 and 1908. Bargain Hunt
''Bargain Hunt'' is a British television programme in which two pairs of contestants are challenged to buy antiques from shops or a fair and then sell them in an auction for a profit. It has aired on BBC One since 13 March 2000 in a daytime version, and from 22 August 2002 to 13 November 2004 in a primetime version. Bargain Hunt was originally presented by David Dickinson. From 2003 to January 2016 it was presented by Tim Wonnacott. In 2016 the format changed to a rota of hosts from a "team of experts" fronting the series. Format ''Bargain Hunt'' has undergone various TV formats and rule changes since it premiered in 2000. Christina Helen Johanne Trevanion (born 12 June 1981) is a British auctioneer and television presenter. She is a partner in the firm of Trevanion & Dean, auctioneers and valuers, based in Whitchurch, Shropshire. Trevanion founded the firm with Aaron Dean, having previously worked at Christie's. Mark Stacey (born 23 September 1964) is a Welsh valuer and auctioneer. He is also a TV personality and has made regular appearances on BBC programmes as an antique expert. Biography and professional career Stacey was born in Neath, Glamorgan, South Wales. He moved to London and worked for the Bonhams and Sotheby's auction houses. Philip Serrell
Philip Martyn Serrell (born March 1954) is an English auctioneer, antiques expert and television presenter who appears as regular presenter on BBC TV antiques programmes such as '' Bargain Hunt'' and '' Flog It!''. He began his career as a livestock trade auctioneer, but he became a chartered surveyor in 1988 to analyse antiques. Serrell has also participated in musical charity events, performing as a singer with The Celebs. Charlie Ross (British Antiques Expert)
Charlie Ross (born June 1950 in Buckinghamshire, England) is a British antiques expert, presenter and auctioneer, known for regular appearances on several BBC Antique programmes. Professional career Ross started his career in 1963 after leaving school joining a local firm of estate agents and found himself auctioning chickens and turkeys. Natasha Raskin Sharp (born 15 June 1986) is a Scottish television presenter, and antiques and art expert, especially in Scottish contemporary art, best known for her appearances on television. Anita Manning
Anita Manning (born 1 December 1947) is a Scottish antiques expert and television personality from Glasgow. She is well known for her appearances since 2010 as an expert and presenter on the BBC's ''Bargain Hunt'', ''Flog It!'' and the ''Antiques Road Trip''. David Barby
David John Barby, FRICS (23 April 1943 – 25 July 2012) was an English antiques expert, known for his appearances on ''Bargain Hunt, Flog It!'' and similar BBC antiques television programmes. Career Born in Rugby, Warwickshire, he was interested in antiques from age 12, which led to his joining the profession on leaving school. He qualified aged 21 as a member of the Incorporated Society of Valuers and Auctioneers, which merged with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors in 2000.
