A hypocorism ( or ; from Ancient Greek ; sometimes also ''hypocoristic''), or pet name, is a name used to show affection for a person. Tore André Flo
Tore André Flo (born 15 June 1973) is a Norwegian professional football coach and a former striker who previously was the manager of 1. divisjon club Sogndal. He was capped 76 times, scoring 23 goals for Norway, and represented his country in 1998 FIFA World Cup and UEFA Euro 2000, and scored Norway's first goal when Norway won 2–1 against Brazil and advanced to the second round of the 1998 World Cup. During his professional career, he played for Sogndal, Tromsø and Brann in Tippeligaen, before he moved abroad and played for Chelsea. After a successful spell with the English club, he was sold to Rangers for £12 million and became the most expensive Norwegian player. Rasmus Flo
Rasmus Flo (29 September 1851 – 30 November 1905i) was a Norwegian teacher, philologist, magazine editor, and translator. He was a noted proponent of the use of the Nynorsk language. Biography Rasmus Flo was born in Stryn near the northern border of Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. He was a farmer's son from the small village of Flo, in the traditional district of Nordfjord. At the age of 20, he ventured from his home to go to Stord in Hordaland. He worked as a substitute teacher while studying for the "atrium examen," an entrance exam for studying liberal arts at university in Norway. He took the test in 1873 and earned a degree in philology from the University of Oslo in 1881. From 1878 to 1885 he was a teacher at the town of Kongsvinger. Later he was an intern at the graduate school in Tromsø before spending two more years teaching in the Valdres municipal schools.

Per-Egil Hough Flo (born 18 January 1989) is a Norwegian footballer who plays as a defender for Sogndal. He is the nephew of Håvard Flo and cousin-nephew of Jostein Flo, Jarle Flo and Tore André Flo. Jostein Flo
Jostein Flo (born 3 October 1964) is a Norwegian former footballer who played as a forward. Usually a centre-forward or striker, he was known for his physical playing style and aerial dominance, and was also capable of playing on the right flank. He is Sports Director in Strømsgodset. Career At club level, Flo usually played as a centre-forward. For the Norway national team, he also acted as a target man, but instead played right winger, and was instrumental for the tactics applied by former Norway coach Egil Olsen. Playing a characteristic 4–5–1 formation, the left back would often hit long crosses to Flo, who in turn would head the ball to either one of the central midfielders or to the striker. Håvard Flo
Håvard Flo (born 4 April 1970) is a Norwegian former professional footballer who played as a forward. He played for Stryn and Sogndal, before he left Norway in 1994 and played for AGF, SV Werder Bremen and Wolverhampton Wanderers. He returned to Sogndal in 2001. He made a comeback for Sogndal in 2010. Career Flo was born in Flo, Stryn. His most successful spell was in AGF, where he won the Danish Cup in 1996. The same year AGF finished second in the League – behind eventual champions Brøndby. AGF also won a bronze medal in the "Flo-era". Flo is still remembered in Aarhus as one of the best AGF players ever. In 2008, when Flo first announced his retirement, he returned to Aarhus for a final tribute in the half time break. Asbjørn Blokkum Flø (born 6 May 1973 in Volda Municipality) is a Norwegian composer, musician and sound artist. He studied composition at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo with Lasse Thoresen, Asbjørn Schaathun and Ivar Frounberg. Mark Randall Volman (born April 19, 1947) is an American vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter, best known as a founding member of the 1960s rock band The Turtles, and, along with his bandmate and friend Howard Kaylan, a member of the 1970s rock duo Flo & Eddie, where he used the pseudonym Flo (short for The Phlorescent Leech).
