Flickorna I Småland
"Flickorna i Småland" (; ) is a Swedish language, Swedish song written in 1912 by Karl Williams (Kalle i Dalen), Karl Williams (known as ''Kalle i Dalen'') and composed by Fridolf Lundberg. It became a long lived schlager. According to the Svenska Turistföreningen, Swedish Tourist Association's 1968 yearbook, Karl Williams got his inspiration to the song a sunday, mid-year through 1912, on his way from Hamneda to a party in Torpa, Sweden, Torpa. While repairing his flat bicycle tire he got to see three beautiful girls around some nearby Calluna, heather hills. "Flickorna i Småland" has been recorded several times. One of the earliest versions is by Eric Engström, who made an acoustic recording, without microphone, at Hotel Continental in Stockholm on November 15, 1919. In 1945 the song was sung by Sickan Carlsson in the eponymous movie ''The Girls in Smaland (film), The Girls in Smaland''. The Delta Rhythm Boys
The Delta Rhythm Boys were an American vocal group active from 1934 to 1987. The group was formed at Langston University in Langston, Oklahoma, in 1934 by Carl Jones, Traverse Crawford, Otha Lee Gaines, and Kelsey Pharr. They moved to Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1936 and worked there under Frederick Hall as the Frederick Hall Quintet and the New Orleans Quintet. They performed on radio programs such as ''Amos and Andy'' and '' The Joan Davis Show'', and performed on Broadway in the shows ''Sing Out the News'' and '' Hot Mikado''. Gina Dirawi (; born 11 December 1990) is a multi-awardwinning Swedish television presenter, singer-songwriter, author, comedian, radio personality, and actress. Melodifestivalen 2016 was the 56th edition of the Swedish music competition Melodifestivalen, which selected Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. The competition was organised by (SVT) and took place over the six-week period between 6 February and 12 March 2016. For the 15th consecutive year, the format of the competition consisted of six shows: four heat rounds, a second-chance round and a final. The 28 competing entries were divided into four heats, with seven compositions in each. From each heat, the songs that earned first and second place qualified directly to the final, while the songs that placed third and fourth proceeded to the Second Chance round. The bottom three songs in each heat were eliminated from the competition. 2003 was the 43rd edition of the Swedish music competition , which was organised by (SVT) and took place over a five-week period between 15 February and 15 March 2003.
