Herb Parsons Lake is a reservoir lake located in Fayette County, Tennessee near the town of Collierville in neighboring Shelby County. It is owned and operated by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, and is named after Herb Parsons, a famed exhibition shooter from the county. Maynard Faye Throneberry (June 22, 1931 – April 26, 1999) was an American professional baseball player. A native of Fisherville, Tennessee, he was a backup outfielder in Major League Baseball who played for the Boston Red Sox (1952, 1955–57), Washington Senators (1957–60) and Los Angeles Angels (1961).
