First Nations Lacrosse Association
First Nations Lacrosse Association (FNLA; formerly Iroquois Lacrosse Association) is a member of Lacrosse Canada with associations in both Canada and the United States centred in Native American Communities. In addition to youth associations, the FNLA also sanctions three men's box lacrosse leagues: Can-Am Senior B Lacrosse League, Three Nations Senior Lacrosse League, and First Nations Junior B Lacrosse League. The FNLA does not oversee the five Haudenosaunee Nationals international teams, the Haudenosaunee men's national lacrosse team, the Haudenosaunee men's national under-19 lacrosse team, the Haudenosaunee women's national lacrosse team, the Haudenosaunee women's national under-19 lacrosse team, and the Haudenosaunee national indoor lacrosse team. First Nations Junior B Lacrosse League
The First Nations Junior B Lacrosse League (formerly Iroquois Nations Junior B Lacrosse League) is a box lacrosse league sanctioned by the First Nations Lacrosse Association. The league was formed in 2014 with the restructuring of the Canadian Lacrosse Association. Four teams competed in the inaugural season. The league winner earns a spot in the Founders' Cup, the national championship of Junior B lacrosse in North America. History The first game in INJBLL history was contested between Tonawanda and Seneca on May 24, 2014 at Cattaraugus Community Center. Seneca won the game 27–4. Brandon Brooks (7 goals, 6 assists) was named Player of the Game. The WarChiefs finished a perfect 12–0 regular season and went on to win the playoff title over Onondaga 3–1 (best-of-5 series). Montreal Junior Lacrosse League
The Montreal Junior Lacrosse League (MJLL) is a Junior B box lacrosse league. The teams are located in Quebec and one in Vermont. The league was formed in 2014 to help fill a void of junior lacrosse in the area. History Four teams competed in the inaugural 2014 season, which began in late May. The Vermont Jr. Voyageurs (6-0) finished undefeated in the regular season to earn a playoff bye into the championship series. Second-seed Montreal Shamrocks (4-2) defeated Kanehsatake (2-4) in two-straight games (12-1, 13–3) to advance. In the best-of 3 final, Vermont won Game 1 at home 11–7. Game 2 was played in Montreal, with the Jr. Voyageurs clinching the first-ever MJLL title with an 11–6 victory. World Lacrosse (WL), formerly the Federation of International Lacrosse, is the international governing body of lacrosse, responsible for the men's, women's, and indoor versions of the sport. The Haudenosaunee passport, also known as the Iroquois passport, is a passport issued by the Haudenosaunee Confederacy (also known as ''Iroquois''). History The Haudenosaunee government has issued passports since at least 1923, when Haudenosaunee authorities issued a passport to Cayuga statesman Deskaheh to travel to the League of Nations headquarters in Geneva. The Haudenosaunee passport evolved from negotiations with the U.S. State Department, Canada, Britain and other countries and has been used since 1977. 2010 World Lacrosse Championship
The 2010 World Lacrosse Championship was held between 15–24 July. This international men's field lacrosse tournament organized by the Federation of International Lacrosse took place in Manchester, United Kingdom. This was the third time that the tournament was played in Greater Manchester, after the 1978 and 1994 championships. The United States captured their ninth gold medal, defeating Canada 12–10 in the championship game. Paul Rabil of Team USA was named tournament MVP. Australia earned its fourth-straight bronze medal by defeating Japan 16 –9. A record 29 nations competed at the event, eight more than the 2006 WLC in London, Ontario. The 101 games were held at the Armitage Centre, Manchester University's sports grounds. Biodegradation is the breakdown of organic matter by microorganisms, such as bacteria and fungi. It is generally assumed to be a natural process, which differentiates it from composting.
