First Light (radio Program)
''First Light'' was a news program airing on numerous talk radio stations, Broadcast syndication, syndicated by Westwood One (current), Westwood One, a subsidiary of Cumulus Media. The one-hour live program aired weekdays at 5:00 a.m. Eastern Time and was hosted by Michael Toscano. The show featured reports from ABC News Radio, as well as guest interviews, a call-in segment, and the short-form feature ''Last Night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon''. A weekend version, ''The Week in Review'', for airing on Saturday mornings, was also available to network affiliate, affiliates. Dirk Van was the show's longtime host from 1989 to 2015, with Evan Haning taking the hosting chores upon Van's retirement. In August 2018, Haning announced he would be stepping away from full-time hosting and Michael Toscano would replace him as host of ''First Light''. The National Broadcasting Company's NBC Radio Network (also known as the NBC Red Network from 1927 to 1942) was an American commercial radio network which was in continuous operation from 1926 through 1999. Along with the NBC Blue Network, it was one of the first two nationwide networks established in the United States. Its major competitors were the CBS Radio, Columbia Broadcasting System (CBS), founded in 1927, and the Mutual Broadcasting System, founded in 1934. In 1942, NBC was required to divest one of its national networks. As such, it sold NBC Blue, which was soon renamed the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). WPHM
WPHM (1380 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Port Huron, Michigan. The station broadcasts a News/Talk/Sports radio format. It is owned by Radio First with studios on Huron Avenue in Downtown Port Huron. WPHM is powered at 5,000 watts. To protect other stations on 1380 AM from interference, it uses a directional antenna with a seven-tower array. The signal covers much of The Thumb area of Michigan. Westwood One was an radio in the United States, American radio network that was based in New York City. By 1997, it was managed by CBS Radio, which had acquired Infinity Broadcasting Corporation, which had acquired control of Westwood One in 1993, and was later purchased by the private equity firm, The Gores Group. NBC Peacock
The NBC, National Broadcasting Company (NBC) has used several corporate logos over the course of its history. The first logo was used in 1926 when the radio network began operations. Its most famous logo, the Peafowl, peacock, was first used in 1956 to highlight the network's color television, color programming. While it has been in use in one form or another for all but four years since then, the peacock did not become part of NBC's main logo until 1979 and did not universally become the network's sole logo until the fall of 1988 (although the peacock as the sole logo was unveiled in 1986). Westwood One, Inc. is an American radio network owned by Cumulus Media. The company broadcast syndication, syndicates talk, music, and sports programming. The company takes its name from an earlier network also named Westwood One (1976–2011), Westwood One, a company founded in 1976. The company was, at various times, managed by CBS Radio, the radio arm of CBS Corporation and Viacom (2005–present), Viacom. It was later purchased by the private equity firm The Gores Group before merging with Dial Global in 2011. In December 2013, Dial Global was, in turn, acquired by Cumulus Media.
