Fina De Calderón
Fina de Calderón (August 21, 1927 Madrid- January 12, 2010 Madrid) was a Spanish writer, poet, songwriter, and musician. Her song " Caracola" ("Conch") was the Spanish entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1964, performed by Los TNT. Life She grew up in France. As a youth, she studied violin and composed her first poems. She moved to Toledo, and was owner of Cigarral del Ángel. Family She married Fernando Calderon Gutierrez, Marquis of Mozobamba del Pozo, and they had three children, José Rafael, Mariola and Giovanna. Caracola (song)
Spain was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1964 with the song "", written by Fina de Calderón, and performed by the band Los TNT. The Spanish participating broadcaster, (TVE), selected its entry through a national final and, subsequently, the performers internally. Before Eurovision National final (TVE) selected its entry during the TV show , hosted by Carmina Alonso and Ana María Solsona in Barcelona. It was the viewers that decided the winning song by sending postcards by mail. Each song was presented twice by two different singers. In the final that took place on 18 February, the song "" performed by Michel and Teresa María, respectively, was proclaimed the winner. The Eurovision Song Contest 1964 was the 9th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Los TNT
Los TNT () were an Italian-Uruguayan rock 'n' roll band, popular in the 1960s. The band consisted of two brothers and a sister from Udine, Italy: Edelweiss "Tim" Croatto (born 1936), Hermes "Tony" Croatto (1939 - 2005), and Argentina "Nelly" Croatto (born 1941). The acronym and word play TNT comes from their nicknames. The family emigrated to La Paz, Uruguay in 1946, and in 1953 they moved to Montevideo, where they started to sing. In 1959 they moved to Buenos Aires, and they were discovered and hired by Argentine record label RCA Victor in 1960. Édith Giovanna Gassion (19 December 1915 – 10 October 1963), known as Édith Piaf (), was a French singer and lyricist best known for performing songs in the cabaret and modern chanson genres.
