Fimleikafélagið Björk, also known as Björk for short, is a multi-sports club from Hafnarfjörður, Iceland. The club was founded in 1951 as a gymnastics club but soon started departments in various other sports. Arena In April 2001, ground was broken for the club's new arena, ''Bjarkarhús''. Sports Basketball During the winter of 1958–1959, the club started a basketball department. The following winter, basketball was the main sport at the club, with the gymnastic department folding. Hafnarfjörður
Hafnarfjörður, officially Hafnarfjarðarkaupstaður, is a port town and municipality in Iceland, located about south of Reykjavík. The municipality consists of two non-contiguous areas in the Capital Region (Iceland), Capital Region, on the southwest coast of the country. At about 31,500 inhabitants, Hafnarfjörður is the third-most populous city in Iceland after Reykjavík and Kópavogur. Úrvalsdeild kvenna (English: Women's Premier League), known as Bónus deild kvenna for sponsorship reasons, is the highest basketball competition among women's clubs in Iceland. It is administered by the Körfuknattleikssamband Íslands, Icelandic Basketball Federation. It was founded in 1952 and, until 2007, it was known as 1. deild kvenna (English: Women's First division). ''Morgunblaðið'' (, ''The Morning Paper'') is an Icelandic daily newspaper. ''Morgunblaðið''s website, mbl.is, is the most popular website in Iceland. It is currently the country's only daily printed newspaper and the newspaper of record.
