The pair skating competition of the 2010 Winter Olympics was held at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The short program (figure skating), short program was held on February 14, 2010 and the free skating was held on February 15, 2010. Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo (CHN) won the gold medal. This was the first time since 1960 that a Russian, Soviet, or Unified Team (CIS) flagged team did not win the gold medal. Pang Qing
Pang Qing (; born December 24, 1979, in Harbin, Heilongjiang) is a Chinese retired pair skater. With her husband Tong Jian, she is the 2010 Olympic silver medalist, the 2006 and 2010 World Champion, a five-time Four Continents champion (2002, 2004, 2008, 2009 & 2011) and the 2008 Grand Prix Final Champion. Career Pang was born in Harbin, the home of Chinese pair skating. She began skating at age six. She originally competed as a single skater. In 1993, coach Yao Bin teamed her up with Tong and they have been skating together ever since. When Yao moved to Beijing, Pang and Tong trained without a coach until 1997, when they began training under Yao again. Pang and Tong did not have a strong junior career, perhaps due to the fact that the Junior Grand Prix did not exist when they were skating at the junior level. 2009–10 Grand Prix Of Figure Skating Final
The 2009–10 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final was a figure skating competition in the 2009–10 season. It was the culminating competition of the 2009–10 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition, and the 2009–10 ISU Junior Grand Prix, a junior-level international competition. Skaters earned points towards qualifying for the senior Grand Prix Final at the 2009 Trophée Eric Bompard, the 2009 NHK Trophy, the 2009 Rostelecom Cup, the 2009 Cup of China, the 2009 Skate America, and the 2009 Skate Canada International. Skaters earned points towards qualifying for the Junior Grand Prix Final at each of the seven Junior Grand Prix events. The six highest ranking skaters/teams from the Grand Prix series and the eight highest ranking skaters/teams from the Junior Grand Prix met at the Grand Prix Final. Heinz-Ulrich Walther
Heinz-Ulrich Walther (born 11 March 1943) is a German former pair skater who represented East Germany and the United Team of Germany in competition. With Heidemarie Steiner, he is the 1970 World bronze medalist and a three-time European bronze medalist (1967–68, 1970). Walther competed at two Winter Olympics, placing 11th in 1964 with Brigitte Wokoeck and fourth with Steiner in 1968. Skating career Heinz-Ulrich Walther teamed up with Brigitte Wokoeck around 1959 and represented the club SC Dynamo Berlin. The pair won the 1963 Blue Swords and two East German national titles, in 1962 and 1964. Representing the United Team of Germany, they placed 11th at the 1964 Winter Olympics in Innsbruck. It was their final competition together. Walther formed a partnership with Heidemarie Steiner by around 1965. Coached by Heinz-Friedrich Lindner, they represented SC Dynamo Berlin.
