Mongezi Feza
Mongezi Feza (11 May 1945 – 14 December 1975) was a South African jazz trumpeter and flautist. Biography Feza was born in Queenstown, Cape Province, Union of South Africa, into a family of musicians, His elder brother, Sandi Feza, who taught him how to play the trumpet in the dusty streets of Mlungisi township in Queenstown. A member of The Blue Notes, Feza left South Africa in 1964 and settled in Europe, living in London and Copenhagen. As a trumpeter, his influences included hard bopper Clifford Brown and free jazz pioneer Don Cherry. After The Blue Notes splintered in the late 1960s, he played with British rock musician Robert Wyatt, progressive rock band Henry Cow, and most extensively with fellow ex-Blue Notes musicians Johnny Dyani, Chris McGregor and Dudu Pukwana. Feza's compositions "Sonia" and "You Ain't Gonna Know Me ('Cos You Think You Know Me)" remained in the repertoire of his colleagues long after his death. Feza Gürsey (; April 7, 1921 – April 13, 1992) was a Turkish mathematician and physicist. Among his contributions to theoretical physics, his work on the chiral model and on SU(6) symmetry of the quark model are the most well-known. Early life Feza Gürsey was born on April 7, 1921, in Istanbul, to Reşit Süreyya Gürsey, a military physician, and Remziye Hisar, a chemist and a pioneering Turkish scientist. He graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1940, and received his degree in Mathematics – Physics from Istanbul University in 1944. Career Through a scholarship from the Turkish Ministry of Education he received while he was an assistant in Istanbul University, he pursued a doctorate degree at the Imperial College London in the United Kingdom. He completed his work on the application of quaternions to quantum field theory in 1950. Shehret Feza Hanim
Shehret Feza Hanim (; ; died 1895; meaning "Empyrean fame") was the first wife of Khedive Isma'il Pasha of Egypt. Marriage Of Georgian origin, Shehret Feza married Isma'il Pasha, as his first wife, before his accession to the throne. She gave birth to two daughters, Princess Tawhida Hanim (died 1888) born in 1850, followed by Princess Fatima Hanim (died 1920), born in 1853. After Isma'il's accession to the throne in 1863, she was given the title of "First Princess", a position at which she remained throughout his entire reign, until his deposition in 1879. In Egypt she was known as ''Buyuk Hanim'' or Great Lady. She mostly wore traditional Ottoman garments, featuring a few western details. After Jamal Nur Qadin's death in 1876, her son, Prince Ali Jamal Pasha was bought up and cared for by Shehret Feza, for whom he never felt more than mildly affectionate gratitude. Feza Gürsey Science Center
Feza Gürsey Science Center () is a science museum in Ankara, Turkey. It is named after Feza Gürsey (1921 - 1992), the renowned Turkish mathematician and physicist. The center was founded by the Metropolitan municipality of Ankara. It was opened on 23 April 1993, the Children's Day of Turkey. It is situated in Altınpark, the main recreation center of Ankara and is operated by ANFA, a sub unit of the municipality. The original exhibits were built by the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto Canada. In addition to the delivery and installation of the exhibits, the OSC sent a team of educators and hosts and spent a month in Ankara training their staff. The center has 48 exhibits, most of which are either interactive or live demonstrations.
