Fernando Sánchez Polack
Fernando Sánchez Polack (11 August 1920 – 24 January 1982) was a Spanish actor. He appeared in more than 110 films and television shows from 1959 to 1982, mostly in supporting roles in Spaghetti Western films. He starred in the 1966 film ''La caza'', which won the Silver Bear for Best Director at the 16th Berlin International Film Festival. On 1 December 1981 he was hospitalized from a paraplegia at Residencia Sanitaria Provincial, and he died on 24 January 1982 aged 61 from cardiac arrest. ''The Big Gundown'' () is a 1967 spaghetti Western film directed by Sergio Sollima, and starring Lee Van Cleef and Tomas Milian. It was followed by Run, Man, Run in 1968. Plot Possessing a reputation for bringing criminals to justice, ready-to-retire bounty hunter Jonathan Corbett (Lee Van Cleef) is summoned to a party by a Texas railroad tycoon by the name of Brokston (Walter Barnes (actor), Walter Barnes), whose daughter is getting married. Brokston plants the seed that Corbett should consider a run for the Senate, but not before doing one last bounty hunt. ''El Retorno de Walpurgis'' (''The Return of Walpurgis'', also known as ''Curse of the Devil'') is a 1973 Mexican-Spanish co-production horror film that is the seventh in a twelve-film series about the werewolf Count Waldemar Daninsky, played by Paul Naschy. This film ignored the events in all of the earlier Wolf Man films and began an entirely new origin for el Hombre Lobo, which is strange because the film's Spanish title ''The Return of Walpurgis'' seems to tie it in with Naschy's earlier 1970 film ''Walpurgis Night''. The Wolf Man makeup was done by Fernando Florido. The film was shot in June 1973, and by September, it was already in theaters in Spain, as ''El Retorno de Walpurgis''. ''Pancho Villa'' is a 1972 Italian-Spanish spaghetti western film directed by Eugenio Martín. It takes as its starting point the life and legend of the Mexican bandit-revolutionary of that name, but has no other basis in historical fact. The film features Telly Savalas, Clint Walker, Chuck Connors and Anne Francis. Shot in Spain, this "brawling spectacle" has an often-overlooked light-comedy satirical facet, which to this day often confuses viewers. The storyline was developed during the Vietnam War and reflected certain antiwar sentiments in an American society.
