Fernando Rodríguez De Castro
Fernando Rodríguez de Castro (1125–1185) was a Kingdom of Castile, Castilian nobleman, statesman and military leader who made his career in Kingdom of León, León. He was the leader of the House of Castro during the civil wars that followed the death of Sancho III of Castile and the succession of the infant Alfonso VIII. Fernando Rodríguez de Castro (died 1304), was a Galician noble and a member of the House of Castro. He was the son of Esteban Fernández de Castro, Lord of Lemos and Sarria, and Aldonza Rodríguez de León. His paternal grandparents were Fernando Gutiérrez de Castro and Emilia Iniguez de Mendoza. His maternal grandparents were Rodrigo Alfonso de León, son of Alfonso IX of León, and Ines Rodríguez Cabrera. Following the death of his father, Esteban Fernández de Castro, Fernando became Lord of Lemos and Sarria. In 1293, he married Violante Sánchez of Castile, illegitimate daughter of Sancho IV of Castile. He was one of the most powerful and influential nobles of Galicia, like most members of the House of Castro. Fernando Rodriguez (born June 18, 1984) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Houston Astros, and Oakland Athletics. Rodriguez throws and bats right-handed, and is listed at and . He made his MLB debut in May 2009. Career Los Angeles Angels Rodriguez was selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the 11th round of the 2003 Major League Baseball draft, and signed with the club on June 25, 2003. He played in the Angels' farm team, farm system from 2003 through 2010. He made his major league debut against the New York Yankees on May 2, 2009, at Yankee Stadium, pitching of an inning in relief, giving up three runs (two earned) on a hit and two walks; it was his only MLB appearance with the Angels.
