Fernando Martínez Castellano
Fernando Martínez Castellano (1942 – 20 May 2024) was a Spanish politician who was a member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE). He was the first democratically elected mayor of Valencia after the Francoist dictatorship, serving from April to October 1979. He was removed from office by his party after taking a position critical of its leadership. He did not run in any election again until 2007. Biography Tenure as mayor Born in Valencia, Martínez Castellano joined the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) in 1976. He was the first democratically elected mayor of his home city in the 1979 Spanish local elections. Felipe González
Felipe González Márquez (; born 5 March 1942) is a retired Spanish politician who was Prime Minister of Spain from 1982 to 1996 and leader of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party from 1974 to 1997. ''ABC'' () is a Spanish national daily newspaper. Along with and , it is one of Spain's three newspapers of record. History and profile ''ABC'' was first published in Madrid on 1 January 1903 by Torcuato Luca de Tena y Álvarez-Ossorio. The founding publishing house was Prensa Española, which was led by the founder of the paper, Luca de Tena. The paper started as a weekly newspaper, turning daily in June 1905. In 1928 ABC had two editions, one for Madrid and the other for Seville. The latter was named ''ABC de Sevilla''. On 20 July 1936, shortly after the Spanish Civil War began, ''ABC'' in Madrid was seized by the republican government, which changed the paper's politics to support the Republicans. The Social Democratic Party (Partido Social Demócrata, PSD) was a minor political party based in the Valencian Community, Spain. It gained relevancy in the local and regional elections of May 27, 2007 in the Valencian Community, in the Community of Madrid, in Murcia, Extremadura, Cantabria, Aragón, Andalucía and Castilla La Mancha.
