Fernando Hernández (handballer)
Fernando Hernández Casado (born 24 February 1973) is a Spanish handball player who won 2005 World Men's Handball Championship. He also the competed in the 1996 Summer Olympics and in the 2004 Summer Olympics. In 1996, he won the bronze medal with the Spanish team. He played one match and scored three goals. Eight years later, he was a member of the Spanish handball team which finished seventh in the 2004 Olympic tournament. He played all eight matches and scored 15 goals. Career Hernández started playing handball at the club La Salle in his hometown, Valladolid. Here, he won the Spanish youth championship in 1989. In 1992, he made his senior debut for BM Valladolid in the top Spanish league, Liga ASOBAL. In 1996 he joined Ademar León, where he won the Copa ASOBAL and EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 2000. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball, Olympic handball or indoor handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the opposing team. A standard match consists of two periods of 30 minutes, and the team that scores more goals wins. Modern handball is played on a court of , with a goal in the middle of each end. The goals are surrounded by a zone where only the defending goalkeeper is allowed; goals must be scored by throwing the ball from outside the zone or while "diving" into it. José Javier Hombrados
José Javier Hombrados (born 7 April 1972) is a Spanish former handball player for Spain national team. He has the record for most appearances in the Spanish top division, Liga ASOBAL and the only player with more than 700 appeances. He is the only goalkeeper to have won the EHF Champions League with three different clubs. Career Hombrados began playing handball at BM Safa in Barcelona. His first league game was for Atlético Madrid. In 1991, he reached the final of the Cope del Rey. In 1993, he joined Teka. Here he won the Spanish Championship in 1994 and the EHF Champions League and Copa del Rey in 1995. He then played for a short while for SD Teucro before joining Ademar León. Juan Antonio "Juanín" García Lorenzana better known as Juanín García (born 28 August 1977) is a Spanish former handball player. He retired in 2019 after playing for CB Ademar León. He is the all time top scorer in the Spanish Liga ASOBAL with 2684 goals. He also has the second most matches in the league (628) behind José Javier Hombrados, and the most for any outfield player. With 822 goals he is also the all time top scorer on the Spanish national team. He was included in the 2004 World team of the year as the left wing. Career García's senior debut came for Ademar León. Albert Rocas Comas (born 16 June 1982) is a Spanish handball player. He is currently retired and is working in a Spanish school. He participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing as a member of the Spain men's national handball team. The team won a bronze medal, defeating Croatia. The EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men.
