Fermín Pardo Pardo (born 20 April 1945)Gran enciclopedia de la Comunidad Valenciana, vol. 12, 2005, Prensa Valenciana, València, p. 13 is a Spanish folklore researcher, and is one of the most notable scholars of traditional music in the Land of Valencia. Pardo was born in Hortunas, Requena. Requena, Valencia
Requena is a municipality in eastern Spain, in the province of Valencia, located on the left bank of the river Magro. The town used to be a Moorish fortress, occupying a strong position in the mountainous region of Las Cabrillas (1000 metres). It is dominated by the ancient citadel of the Moors, and still has traces of the original town walls. There are three ancient parish churches; San Nicolás, the oldest, dates back to the 13th century, but was partly restored in 1727. Near the town are the sulphurous springs of Fuentepodrida. Folklore studies (also known as folkloristics, tradition studies or folk life studies in the UK) is the academic discipline devoted to the study of folklore.
