Ferhatpaşa is a neighborhood (''wikt:mahalle, mahalle'') in the district of Ataşehir, Istanbul, Turkey. Ferhatpaşa is the easternmost neighborhood of Ataşehir. It is bordered on the north by the European route E80, Trans-European Motorway (TEM or E80), with the Ümraniye neighborhood of :tr:Esenkent, Ümraniye, Esenkent and the Sancaktepe neighborhood of :tr:Eyüp Sultan, Sancaktepe, Eyüp Sultan on the other side of the motorway; on the southeast and south by the Sancaktepe neighborhood of Eyüp Sultan and the Maltepe, Istanbul, Maltepe neighborhood of :tr:Büyükbakkalköy, Büyükbakkalköy; and on the west by the Ataşehir neighborhoods of :tr:Mimarsinan, Ataşehir, Mimar Sinan and :tr:Yeniçamlıca, Yeni Çamlıca. Its population is 21,160 (2022). In the 1920s, this area was the Ferhatpaşa Farm (''wikt:çiftlik, çiftlik''). In the 1980s, settlement in the area began. Mahalle
is an Arabic word variously translated as district, quarter, ward, or neighborhood in many parts of the Arab world, the Balkans, Western Asia, the Indian subcontinent, and nearby nations. Belde
Belde (literally "town", also known as ''kasaba'') means "large village with a municipality" in Turkish language, Turkish. All Turkish province centers and district centers have municipalities, but the Villages of Turkey, villages are usually too small to have municipalities. The population in some villages may exceed 2000 and in such villages a small municipality may be established depending on residents' choice. Such villages are called ''belde''. Up to 2014 the number of ''belde'' municipalities was about 1400. On 30 March 2014 by the act no. 6360 all villages (those with and without municipality) were included in the urban fabric of the district municipalities in 30 provinces. Thus ''belde'' municipalities in 30 provinces were abolished. The number of abolished ''belde'' municipalities is 1040. Maltepe, Istanbul
Maltepe is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 53 km2, and its population is 528,544 (2022). It is on the northern shore of the Sea of Marmara, adjacent to the Kadıköy district to the west, Kartal district to the east and AtaÅŸehir district to the northwest. AtaÅŸehir is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Istanbul, Istanbul, Turkey. Its area is 25 km2, and its population is 423,127 (2022). It is located at the junction of the Otoyol 2, O-2 and Otoyol 4, O-4 motorways on the Anatolian (Asian) side of Istanbul. Sancaktepe
Sancaktepe is a municipality and district of Istanbul Province, Turkey. Its area is 63 km2, and its population is 489,848 (2022).
