Ferenc Németh (born ), also commonly known as François Németh, was a Hungarian-French professional basketball player. He played at the center (basketball), center position. He was named one of FIBA's 50 Greatest Players (1991), FIBA's 50 Greatest Players in 1991. Professional career During his sports club, club playing career, Németh won 4 LNB Pro A, French League championships, in the years 1948, 1949, 1950, and 1951. He also LNB Pro A Best Scorer, led the French League in scoring, in 1950 and 1951. He was the first player to score more than 50 points in a French basketball league system, top-tier level French basketball league game, as he scored French Basketball Championship 50+ point games, 55 points, on 11 February 1951, in a game against Hirondelles de Coutures, in an 82–55 win. The 1947 FIBA European Championship, commonly called FIBA EuroBasket 1947, was the fifth FIBA EuroBasket regional basketball championship, held by FIBA.
