The Feelers are a New Zealand pop rock band formed in the early 1990s in Christchurch by James Reid (singer/guitarist) and Hamish Gee (drums/guitar). History The Feelers were signed by Warner Music and released their first album, '' Supersystem''. The album went to number 1 in New Zealand in September 1998, and became the second biggest selling album in the country that year. An instrumental version of single "Pressure Man" featured in 1999 American film '' Drop Dead Gorgeous'' during Kirsten Dunst's tap-dancing act. At the 1999 New Zealand Music Awards Supersystem won Album of the Year, Song Writer of the Year ( James Reid), Band of the Year, and Producer of the Year (The Feelers and Malcolm Welsford). ''Feeler'' is the third studio album by British-based American musician Marcella Detroit. It was first released in the UK by AAA Records in September 1996, with the lead single " I Hate You Now..." coincidentally released in the same month as " I Can Drive", the lead single from Detroit's former band Shakespears Sister's third album '' #3''. Critical reception Aaron Badgley from Allmusic lauded the album, calling it "honest", and "infinitely better than her debut" (incorrectly referring to ''Jewel''). ''Feeler'' was supposed have been the Toadies's follow-up album to the critically acclaimed debut '' Rubberneck''; however, it was rejected by Interscope Records. In June 2010, the band announced they had re-entered the studio to "rediscover" and re-record the album. This nine-song version was released on August 10, 2010. 1998 recordings In 1997, the band decided to end their '' Rubberneck'' tour and began work on their follow-up album. In the beginning of 1998, the band entered Arlyn Studios and Pedernales Studio with producer Paul Leary. They recorded 15 songs in consideration for the album, initially planning for a fall 1998 release. By August, due to 'scheduling problems', the album, which now had the tentative title ''Feeler'', was still not mixed or mastered, although there was still hope that it would be released in early 1999. Feeler Gauge
A feeler gauge is a tool used to measure gap widths. Feeler gauges are mostly used in engineering to measure the clearance between two parts. Description They consist of a number of small lengths of steel of different thicknesses with measurements marked on each piece. They are flexible enough that, even if they are all on the same hinge, several can be stacked together to gauge intermediate values. It is common to have two sets: one for imperial units (typically measured in Thou (length), thousandths of an inch), and one for Metric system, metric (typically measured in hundredths of a millimetre) measurements (with intervals of thousandths of an inch and hundredths of a millimetre being roughly in the same order of magnitude).
