Federação Escotista De Portugal
The Federação Escotista de Portugal (also ''Federação Escutista de Portugal''; FEP, ''Scouting Federation of Portugal'') is the national Scouting federation of Portugal. Scouting in Portugal started in 1911 and was among the founders of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1922. The present federation was founded in 1928. It serves 77,352 members of both sexes (as of 2022). When Portuguese Scouting started in 1911, many associations appeared, however, only two of them survived: ''União dos Adueiros de Portugal'' (which became extinct in 1930) and the '' Associação dos Escoteiros de Portugal'' (AEP), still operational. The '' Corpo Nacional de Escutas - Escutismo Católico Português'' (CNE) is another Scouting organization that is active today. It was founded in 1923, and is sponsored by the Catholic Church. World Organization Of The Scout Movement
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM ) is the largest and, after the Order of World Scouts (formed in 1911), is the second-oldest international organization in the Scout Movement, having been established in 1922. It has 176 members. These members are national scout organizations that founded WOSM or have subsequently been recognised by WOSM, which collectively have around 43 million participants. Its operational headquarters is in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, although it is legally based in Geneva, Switzerland. WOSM's stated mission is "to contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Scout Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society". Associação Dos Escoteiros De Portugal
The Associação dos Escoteiros de Portugal (AEP, ''Scout Association of Portugal'') is a national youth organization dedicated to education and the development of civic character through the principles of Scouting. Founded in 1913, it was the first Scouting organization established in Portugal and was among the founding members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). Unlike many other Scouting organizations in Portugal, the AEP is non-denominational and not affiliated with any religious institution. Since 1979, the association has been coeducational, welcoming both boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 21. The Associação Guias de Portugal (AGP; roughly ''Guide Association of Portugal'') is the national Guiding association of Portugal. Guiding in Portugal started in 1919 and became a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in 1963. The girls-only organization has 3,291 members (as of 2003).
