Federal Judicial Academy
The Federal Judicial Academy is an agency for legal training run by Government of Pakistan in Islamabad. The Academy was established in 1988 and acts under Federal Judicial Academy Act, 1997. The academy offers training for Judicial Officers (Judges and Magistrates) and court personnel. Management Affairs of the academy are supervised by a Board of Governors, which is headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan, other members are Chief Justices of high courts, Minister and Secretary of Law and Justice Ministry, Attorney General of Pakistan and an appointed Director-General. The Director-General looks after day-to-day affairs. The judiciary of Pakistan is the national system of courts that maintains the law and order in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Pakistan uses a '' common law system'', which was introduced during the colonial era, influenced by local medieval judicial systems based on religious and cultural practices. The Kyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy is an institution of higher learning in Peshawar, Pakistan which focuses on legal and judicial studies. Founding The academy was founded in March 2011 by the Chief Justice of Peshawar High Court, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan, after consultation with former director general (Hayat Ali Shah) and former dean of the faculty (Dr. Khursheed Iqbal). Attorney-General for Pakistan is the chief law officer and legal advisor of the Government of Pakistan and enjoys rights of audience before Parliament.
