The Royal Cantabrian Football Federation (; RFCF) is the body responsible for managing association football in the Cantabria, Cantabria autonomous community. Its offices are in Santander, Cantabria, Santander. History The federation was officially created on 8 April 1923, after several reunions in the previous year to establish a regional championship happened. Domingo Solís was elected as its first president. The first regional championship took place during the 1922–23 season, with Racing de Santander being crowned champions. Santander ( , ; ) is the capital of the Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Cantabria, Spain. It has a population of 172,000 (2017). It is a port city located in the northern coast of the Iberian Peninsula, facing the Cantabrian Sea. Tercera Federación, previously known as Tercera RFEF, is the fifth tier of the Spanish football league system. It is below the ''La Liga'', ''Segunda División'', and its fellow semi-professional divisions '' Primera Federación'' and ''Segunda Federación''. It was founded in 1929 as the third tier, and dropped down to the fourth and fifth tiers in 1977 and 2021, respectively. Copa Federación De España (Cantabria Tournament)
The Cantabria tournament is the previous round of the Copa RFEF in Cantabria. Organized by the Cantabrian Football Federation, the Cantabrian teams in Segunda División B and the best teams of the Tercera División (Group 3) not qualified to the Copa del Rey play this tournament, including farm teams. It is usually played between July and October, and the champion of the tournament qualifies to the National tournament of the Copa RFEF. Racing de Santander B is the team with most titles. Format Since 2014, the tournament is played by the eight best teams that did not qualify to Copa del Rey. It is played by a knockout system with single-game series, and the final is played at Campos de Sport de El Sardinero, in Santander. The Copa Real Federación Española de Fútbol, popularly known as the Copa Federación (Federation Cup) or Copa RFEF, is a Spanish football competition organised by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). It has been held since the 1993−94 season as a tournament for smaller football clubs, with a format similar to that of the Copa del Rey. It is contested annually by clubs from Primera Federación, Segunda Federación and Tercera Federación that have not qualified for the Copa del Rey. The competition is currently played in two phases.
