Faruk-e-Azam
Faruk-e-Azam () is a member of the advisory council of the Interim government of Bangladesh. He actively took part in the Bangladesh Liberation War and was later awarded Bir Protik gallantry award by the Government of Bangladesh. He was a naval commando and a deputy commander of the expeditionary team in Operation Jackpot. Early life and education Faruk-e-Azam was born in the Gul Mohammad Chowdhury house in Farhadabad village, Hathazari upazila, North Chattogram. Azam completed his secondary education from Katiarhat High School in Hathazari in 1966. He passed Higher Secondary Certificate at the beginning of the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. Career In 1971, Azam was in Khulna at the beginning of the Liberation War. He experienced difficulties while he was on his way to Chattogram. Interim Government Of Bangladesh
An interim government led by Muhammad Yunus was formed on 8 August 2024 in Bangladesh, following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on 5 August 2024 amid nationwide student and public protests against the government. Following the dissolution of the 12th Jatiya Sangsad on 6 August 2024, the interim cabinet will remain in office until a new Prime Minister is appointed after a snap general election. The government, like the previous non-caretaker government interim administrations (in 1975 and 1990), is extra-constitutional. AKM Mozammel Haque (politician)
AKM Mozammel Haque (; born 1 October 1946) is a politician from Bangladesh, representing the Bangladesh Awami League party. He was the Minister for Liberation War Affairs from 2014 to 2024 and is also a former Jatiya Sangsad member representing the Gazipur-1 constituency. Early life Haque was born on 1 October 1946 in Dakhina Khan, Gazipur Sadar Upazila, Gazipur District to Anwar Ali and Rabeya Khatun. Career Haque was a member of the East Pakistan Chhatra League Central Working Committee. He fought in the Bangladesh Liberation war in 1971 and was part of the Mukti Bahini. From 1973 to 1986, he was elected Upazila chairman three times and four times municipal mayor. He was elected to the parliament from Gazipur-1 in 2008. Abdul Wahed Chowdhury is a one-star retired officer of the Bangladesh Navy and a veteran of the Bangladesh Liberation War, notable for leading Operation Jackpot. He was awarded Bir Uttam, the highest living military award in Bangladesh, for his contributions during the war. Career At the outbreak of war, Chowdhury was one of eight Bengali officers of the Pakistan Navy training in Paris. He was serving in PNS Mangro. They had decided to defect after being inspired by the 7th March speech of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and hearing about the start of Operation Searchlight. Operation Jackpot () was a codename for three operations undertaken by the Mukti Bahini in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) against Pakistan forces at the climax of the Bangladesh War of Independence.
